Nice effort by the Bengals

Idaho State gave Utah a very good fight last night, leading by as many as 15 before falling, 74-66. Tomas Sanchez has really grown as a player, Jeff Solarin is one of the hardest-working post players the Bengals have had for a while, and Scotty Tyler and Justin Smith continue to give us glimpses of the kinds of players they will become. This team is going to be a lot of fun to follow as the season progresses.

I agree with Skippy, it was a great effort by the Bengals.

As I listened to the post game show it was interesting to me that you tried to get the coach to comment on some great individual play by some of the players, Sanchez, Solarin, Hatchett, etc., and he had a hard time giving individual credit. Everything he talked about was the team. He also would not blame any individual player for not being in the “right spots” on defense – he said “we occasionally had a hard time being in the right spot” but wouldn’t call out individuals. I think it’s great that he really believes that the Bengals succeed as a team and make mistakes as a team – not as individuals. That’s got to be hard, especially when you have some of the great individual performances we’ve seen from some of the Bengals so far this year. Good for him!

Go Bengals, beat the Huskies!

I'm very optimistic about our chances this year, especially if Magot can return and stay healthy. Bill Evans was the absolute right man for this job. Excited for the future. Hope to one day see more home OOC games.

Pre-season games seem to be Bill Evans' Classroom for improving play in the next tip-off.
It's not about the opponent but about getting better. He keeps saying in post game interviews that they will look at what they did, learn how to improve, and play better next time. I believe what he says and so does the team. I'm excited about the possibilities down the road. Got my tickets. Got yours? Go Bengals!
