NIT 2014

The NIT this year is going to be full of mid-majors... There are so many 1 seeds being upset in their respected conferences... I am afraid UVU will fall into this category. Should be an interesting NIT this year...

Let's not be one of them. Come on Wildcats take care of business.

USU, U, UVU all play today at 1pm in their conf tourneys...interesting fun indeed, could have all 3 + BYU in the NIT...hopefully Weber goes to the BIG dance...maybe the only hope? BYU is on the NCAA bubble & with key injury may slip off. :twocents:

All of the auto bid teams are going to make NIT at large bids go to the power conference schools. I think Utah & BYU will be NIT. USU will go to the CBI and I am still holding out hope that UVU will go dancing.

I think you are right. With Colllingsworth tearing his ACL (terrible injury and I wish him a quick recovery. He is probably out next season too, at least the preseason.) BYU might be out of the NCAA. After watching them on Tuesday, I thought they were for sure in the Dance. We will see.

UVU should win today. They are playing a team they barely beat in Orem a few days ago on a neutral court, and will eventually have to face New Mexico State. I would like to see them get to the Dance, but it is a rough road.

Utah could shock some. They are playing pretty well right now, and the PAC-12 isnt' the strongest conference

USU is out today. If they beat SDSU it would be the upset of the week.

NIT is going to have plenty of at-large teams from the West to choose from. MWC goes from 4 NCAA bids to 2 -- New Mexico and San Diego State. WCC may only get Gonzaga in if injuries play into the minds of the committee -- the Y without Collingsworth is pretty mundane. PAC12 might get a 6th with ASU after five last year. But all-in-all not a lot of great teams in the West this year and plenty of fair records for the NIT to choose at-large teams from.

UVU punched their ticket to the NIT tonight... The NIT will be the biggest tournament they will have ever played in. Nothing to be ashamed of. Also, UC Irvine will be joining UVU at the NIT. Another tournament one seed lost out of the Big West. Joe had them as a 13 seed. I have only seen two conference regular season champs win their tournament... Many mid-majors headed to the NIT this year.. Only conference winners I have seen are Gonzaga (thank heaven) and another that slips my mind....

Also, I think WSU is the only team dancing this year... BYU is out... The committee will drop them due to losing Collinsworth with the ACL tear.. Mark my words.. Onlny WSU be dancing... With all these conference upsets. A 13 seed might not be too much a stretch...

I love to drink the Kool Aid, but if the committee gives us a 13 seed some people will be looking for work by the time the tournament starts. We need Idaho or Bakersfield to win the WAC. A 15 seed is very achievable right now.
