So, what has changed with the Fighting Prairie Chickens since the last time we played?

They seem to have had some good games and some poor ones. They are a team that could beat anyone on a given night, but also lose to anyone, anywhere. They seem to have been playing with a bit more consistency lately.

I think that this game could be a lot like the UNC game. It's likely to come down to playing consistent D, rebounding, and taking care of the ball. We have been playing defense at a high level lately, but we have been turning the ball over way too much. We need to clean that up. We also need to attack the rim relentlessly, and take outside shots when wide open or when it has gone inside first.

If we can do these things, we win. :coffee:

No Daks success hinges on their ability to hit from 3 range, if they are on they will toast anyone. So put a hand in their face and make them earn it

Well...ISU sure needed the friendly confines of their high school gym last night. The Bengals are coming, but they aren't a program you really have to worry about when they go on the road. Getting better in Poky and hard to beat on their home court. On the road; NOT SO MUCH.

I expect a hard fought game tomorrow. They have far better bigs than the last four teams the Cats have faced. Which has me hoping that BJ #2, will try to guard Joel one on one like he did earlier in the season. I think, I know, that would be a mistake. Remember Wildcat fans that game starts at 1.

Freshman Adam McDermott, cousin of the Bulls' Doug McDermott went off for 28 points off the bench last night. He's a good looking kid, 6-4 with a very nice touch, and he's obviously starting to figure out the college game. Hooker, who is just a tough, tough kid had a triple double last night for UND. He always gives ISU fits.

We have always matched up well with UND. This year is no different. I can't imagine them not doubling on Joel. The problem that everybody has is when his passing game is working well and other players are active around him, we end up with some real good looks at the basket. It's not perfect, but Joel's passing game has improved a lot. :coffee:

Game day, and a HUGE opportunity for Weber, a win in Grand Forks would but monsterous with our next 6 games, 4 of which are at home. Let's get er done Weber

GO WILDCATS

Good crowd for UND. It's weird to hear this much noise coming from a Big Sky road game. This will be a good test for Weber.

North Dakota is a far better team than UNC when playing at home and it is doubtful that Weber will beat them on their home floor. Weber is using the same old "set up the three pointer" offense and they cannot shoot well enough to outscore UND with it. Weber had better come out in the second half with a different offense designed to take advantage of their inside game and a stronger defense. They are not going to beat anybody giving up 80+ points. I wonder if they want to win bad enough to step up in the second half. I sure hope so!

North Dakota is surely a better team at home, weber needs to rebound better and stop their threes

I had my suspicions, but now they are confirmed. :dunce:

Anyway, North Dakota was hot tonight, their hot shooting in the first half was the biggest difference, this team does need someone other than Senglin to step up when Weber has games like this. You have to credit North Dakota on this one, they took our inside game away and we had to settle on jumpshots, and no one other than Senglin could make one. The team fought hard, wouldn't let the UND lead get into their heads. But Missed freebies, defensive rebounding and turnovers cost this team. The Big Sky might not be the best conference in the world, but when you start playing conference games it's a totally different Beast. North Dakota played well, anybody would struggle to beat that team with as hot as they were today.

Time to come back home and get back to our winning ways. Go Weber.

NAU takes down I-da-ho in Flagstaff, probably a much larger upset than this one. I think Weber and every BSC team-- win or lose-- should have a chant of some sort after the game stating something to the effect of "we're going to reNO!"

Really short bench today. Baker and Gittens hardly played. Cannon was pulled quickly and then nobody else played. Short bench might have affected Cats. Reality...Rahe really didn't mix things up at all. Instead kept doing the same things over and over. We got zoned and and our offense became anemic. We've all seen this before. Rahe needs better assistants. Time for change on the bench.

I guess the Bengals found UNC's "high school gym" more to their liking tonight, beating the Bears 90-57. :-D

In looking at everybody's remaining schedules, I think that ISU has a great chance to finish in the top 4. The Bengals may be the biggest surprise in the BSC this year. What they are doing is remarkable.

KenPom has ISU favored in 5 of their last 8 games. If the results follow, ISU would have its first winning season overall since 2002-03, and it's first winning record in conference since 08-09. All of that with 9 players who had never played D-1 ball before this season. I think Bill Evans definitely deserves coach of the year honors, no matter what happens from here on out.
