No LiveStream For Linfield...BOO!

Really looking forward to getting the basketball season started. Living in Seattle, it is tough to make games, especially in pre-season. That said, I was excited about watching from the Bay Area (go Dawgs!) on Friday while listening to the top announcer in the league, Tom Hewitt, only to find out that they don't plan on live streaming the game. Why not!? It can't cost that much and we all want to see the new boys in action...whether in person at the Stott In Progress, or over the Internet. Come on Viking Athletic Dept...make it happen! Go Vikes!

Does the athletics department want to suppress its own image? If it wants ramp up its image to the public, it needs to act like a big-time program at every turn, wherever it can. My guess is that the reason for not streaming the game against Linfield is that it is 'only an exhibition game.' But as you stressed, that is beside the point.

Is Hewitt going to announce this game? This seems like a well put-together ensemble of player talent this year and, I'm sure, we'd like to have the earliest sense of their potential, exhibition game or not. Do big-time programs broadcast their exhibition games? I'm sure the majority do, and the announcers provide much commentary about the players from their research all week leading up to the game. It would make for a very interesting broadcast presentation.

I looked at the schedule and I see no audio all season long! Too bad.
