No love for the Big Sky in Top 25

Okay, this really highlights the lack of respect the BSC gets on the national level. There currently isn't one BSC team in the top 56 MID MAJOR teams!!! Seriously, no BSC team even getting votes. For Christ sakes, Elon got a vote. ELON!!!! Not to mention traditional BB powers Stoney Brook, Denver, Northwestern State (didn't the Griz beat them 46-12 or something in a different sport last year...), and UT Arlington.

Criminey, most of those teams were DII a few years ago. The BSC has simply got to improve the depth and quality beyond Weber and Montana in the conference, and then start scheduling like they mean it.

This is ridiculous.

:+1: X infinity

Well, when your conference starts out 5-18 against Division I opponents and traditional doormat Sac State has two of those wins, respect can be hard to come by.

Including an 0-14 start.

Right On! Yah, it's tough winning on road against good DI teams...but it's necessary to gain respect for BSC. Although Montana won a NCAA tourney game a few years ago against Nevada and Weber State won a game in post season "consolation" national tourney (barely) against so-so UVU last year, even they need more success in national post season play to get the BSC out of the bottom tier of rated conferences. So preseason or postseason...not a stellar record history for Sky teams. It reflects in the various ratings--fair or not. Hope the win-loss record improves soon!!! Hats off to Sac St so far this year. :twocents:

Big sky finally got some love in the voting. Granite it was only still two votes but Suck St is making the Sky proud right now.

i guess we can just be patient and wait. we have just 1 DI win and 2 losses - 1 loss to #17 and other to a team not on the radar. but if a10 was eligible we would have a win over a top 5-10 ranked team.

if we win both games this week we will be 3-2 vs DI with #13 coming to town after next week's poll.

anyone notice this is the wac's first ever season as part of the poll?

I'm just miffed that Weber has only played 4 games and it is Dec 4!! Oh well, after beating Dayton, it is going to be harder for Rahe to schedule teams. I guess having a hard time scheduling games isn't necessarily a bad thing. Anyway, we have a fairly inexperienced team who, I feel, kinda found themselves in the second half of the Dayton game. Yes, Weber should have beaten San Jose. There is no doubt about that one. Weber is the better team and if the bigs could have found the net in that game, Weber wins. And USU, heavens, that game was nip and tuck till the final 2mins, and most importantly, they were all on the road. Most of us thought, before the road trip, that the Cats would be lucky to come home with 1 win. Well, the Cats came home with 1 win. Grant it (not Granite like cous thinks lol), the win came against the most unlikely opponent and completely shocked all of us. Huge win. Weber will get votes and soon.

I'm really worried about the strength of the Sky. I was thinking that Eastern and MSU would be better, but so far they haven't shown to much yet. But then again, Eastern is young and most of their players are new and MSU has Huse who can recruit but coaching is a fairly difficult concept for him to grasp.

As to the lesser number of early games: Weber was to have played three games at Univ of Wyoming, but was "uninvited" by the host school.
It was announced last spring that Weber was playing, then it was changed over summer.
