Jimmy Wilson held out of practice
Associated Presws

MISSOULA, Mont. -- University of Montana football coach Robin Pflugrad is holding cornerback Jimmy Wilson out of practice as the team begins fall drills after Wilson was cited for misdemeanor assault.
Wilson was granted an NCAA waiver to play his senior season. He was arrested just before the start of what would have been his senior season and jailed for two years in California before being acquitted of first-degree murder in the shooting death of his aunt's boyfriend.
Pflugrad said Tuesday that Wilson's return will be a day-to-day decision, as the team gathers information about the incident.
Municipal Court Administrator Pat Morgan says Wilson was cited for misdemeanor assault for allegedly biting someone on the leg in a car early Friday. She says he pleaded not guilty Tuesday and asked for a jury trial.

They took a risk letting him back on the team after an accusation he was acquitted of, but this Wilson character isn't exactly using his seconds chance to its greatest potential. Not smart at all on all accounts. Even if this didn't happen, that fact that Wilson is back in the headlines for causing trouble ins't good for his or the programs image.

There are reports that all that happened was that Wilson was merely PRESENT when a child received bite marks. There is apparently no further evidence identifying him as the perp. Seems like charges will be dropped.

Sounds like more of a case of wrong place, wrong time. If these fans are correct, he'll be reinstated soon.

At the least, though, the team should put a watch on this guy to make sure he stays in the dorm (and out of even the APPEARANCE of trouble).
