Saw this on the realignment board, went to e-Griz, someone suggested UND's probable tactic as joining the Summit and keeping football in the Big Sky.
They'd probably prefer to be in the Missouri Valley Football Conference, but it's doubtful that bad blood between these entities (stemming from the nickname issue and the MVFC poaching South Dakota while the Big Sky had them lined up) have fully subsided.
