Northern Colorado

The Hornets take on Northern Colorado today, they have finally benched Nate Ketteringham. Local boy Nolan Merker will get the start. It will be exciting to see him get in the game. With the running ability he has should. E able to get the hornets a few extra first downs. Winning the game is yet to be seen! Go Hornets

Merker was benched midway through the 3rd…he went 3/15 for 25 yards. The fact that he started just shows how clueless this coaching staff is. Anyone that has attended a practice or a scrimmage over the last 2 seasons knows that Marker is not a D1 caliber QB. The only reason he should ever start is if he is the last option due to injury. Hornets probably steal this game if the stupid decision to start Merker doesn’t happen.

Regardless it’s a hard sell to blame this poor season on the QB. The QB has to play behind a pathetic OL and throw to average at best WRs. No QB was going to succeed this season no matter how well they played.

Follow the covenants, trust in the process SD we're almost to the promised land! Seriously this game was handed to us on a silver platter and we couldn't take advantage of it. I hope I'm wrong but this might have been our best shot to grab one the rest of the way.

I do agree Merker looked really bad but Ketteringham has sucked as well only completing 5 balls last week. We are terrible at QB.

The O Line is terrible Wulff has not really brought anything. WR are very average, Hennie drops to many. RB are ok. Only thing keep us going at all is Robinson. We are so very very bad. I wish the season could stop now so we can not get any worst. I am going to assume Sears finishes out his last year but will need to make some changes on the staff. Who do you fire and who do you bring in. Let's get some names and some realistic ones

I consider myself a loyal Hornet fan I have not missed a home game since the Humboldt game in 2008.
I have always looked forward to attending home games, it will be a real struggle to get motivated for the next two. Unless major changes are made after this season I will not be attending next season. How can the administration ask us to support the program, buy season tickets and be so blind to what they are putting on the field? I would like to see the entire coaching staff released, start fresh from square one. We have not had good luck dragging coaches from one staff to another. It always turns into soap opera, I'm fed up with that too. FCS is the third tier of division one, unless we can field a consistently representative team it's time to pull the plug and put the rest of our programs in the Big West.

The writing was on the wall last season. You could see the competitive nature built during the Sperbeck era being completely erased and this program trending towards the failure that Sears' track record entails. I was hoping the Hornets would make me regret not renewing my season tickets for this season but that is not he case. I don't plan on purchasing season tickets until a qualified HC is brought in.

There is systemic failure in this program that no tweaking to the staff can fix. I agree with GL, it's time to clean house but I have a hard time seeing Macriss doing it for a few reasons (lack of money and lack of will).

Sad to see our football program going down so low against Northern Colorado at their homecoming with 5,200 fans on a perfect day in Colorado. We had almost 10,000 at Hornet Stadium two weeks ago as we went down 40-7 to North Dakota at our homecoming.. What has happened to our football program? We beat Oregon /State and the University of Colorado of the Pac 12 not so long ago. What is going on? What is happening to turn this around? What does it take to have a winning season? What does it take to take a Sac State football program to the post season after being not there since 1988. That is a really long time .
?Come on now

That kinda sounds like the end of last night's SEA-AZ game.
