This team looks to be improved over the last time we played them. On paper, we should beat them easily. Reality could be a bit different. They have won more games than we have played. All of those wins are against other small schools. They have also lost more games than we have played. They have a couple of 6'10'' centers and match up with us, size wise, as well as most BSC teams. Thus far, they have been an above average scoring team, but have also been giving up a lot of points.

I like this match up, just prior to entering BSC play. I don't expect a cake walk, like Kathy's group. :coffee:

We had way too many turnovers but it was nice to see the team having its way under the basket in the second half. All those young guys on the team are way fun to watch and its scary how much talent we have. I can't wait to see the Cats in conference play!

Kind of an ugly game but it was nice to see Tres making an impact again-- great game for him. FT in the first half was absolutely dismal. Williams had the only hot hand from behind the line. Gittens about jumped out of the building on a dunk attempt; it might have been the dunk of the year had it gone down. I sure hope they get it all figured out soon if they're gonna compete for the BSC.

I am very nervous going into conference play. I would have loved to see an entire game with effort at a high level. I took a colleague with me from the East coast that watches a lot of college hoops but hadn't ever seen our team before. He commented on how unsure the team looked offensively in passing the ball. He couldn't figure out why their light full court press wasn't being attacked. He also asked if this was really the coach that developed Lillard.

I thought we played harder in the second half. I wasn't a fan of Gittens huge dunk attempt. He easily could have made the extra pass to either wing for an open shot. I would prefer to see good ball movement as opposed to a spectacular dunk. Royce needs to play more. I would start him at the 2 guard at this point in the season. He may be able to help us out of the gate more quickly. I think he may be leader we have been looking for. I am glad Tres started making free throws, but a senior missing his first 5 freebies is not good. Foul shooting will be the difference between a win or loss in some conference games.

Eastern will be a tough match up right out of the gate. I think we will see quickly whether we are ready for the Big Sky. I am glad we start league play at home.
