But we are up to #77 in the Sagarin rankings. That makes us the #2 team from the FCS behind North Dakota State at #56. The third FCS team? UNI. Try figuring that one out. Maybe Jeff Sagarin is an UNI grad.

Montana remains the #2 team from the Big Sky at #105. Interestingly, this is the exact same spot they held last week. Undefeated Sam Houston State is just one spot above Montana at #104.

Some others from the Big Sky: NAU at #131, Cal Poly at #134, and North Dakota at #139.

The Cougs dropped one spot this week to #20, but remain the best FBS team with an FCS loss this year... Iowa being the next closest at #33.

I think Sam Houston is a pretender. Jacksonville state is probably a better team, and I think we are as well. I really don't understand Sagarin's love of UNI. At some point it doesn't matter how much talent you have or how tough you play really good teams. You have to win some games.

Interestingly, WSU comes into the week ranked #25 in the AP as well as the coaches poll. If they keep winning, this will be significant come playoff selection time.

I don't think SHSU or Jacksonville are pretenders... they are definitely pla off worthy and have prooved that over the last few years. I don't think they are numbers 1 & 2 though. One thing is for certain, we have the advantage being battle tested going into playoffs. We know our guys have the right attitudes to get through tough games... do they?

Agreed on SHSU and JSU although Jenkins is playing hurt and their offense has struggled a little.

Sagarin is great for it's SOS reporting. The rest of it is interesting garbage. Montana's lofty ranking being the case in point.
