Today three players signed letters of intent to play for Weber State. 6-10 Kyle Tresnak F/C, 6-0 Jordan Richardson G, and 6-2 Scott Bamforth G/F. Each of these players shold be able to make an immediate impact upon the Cats, and the help the team. Congratulations to each of these young men, and welcome to Weber State University!

Scouts Inc. High School Basketball Grading System

76 Scouts Grade for Tresnak
80 Scouts Grade for Richardson

73-76: Low-major prospect
Player should be a solid contributor and two- or three-year starter at a low-major program.

80-82: Mid-major minus prospect
Player could be a three- or four-year contributor with an opportunity to eventually start at a mid-major program.

Just to compare, Blake Davis was a 78, Byron Fulton was a 74, and Damian Lillard was an 85.

77-79: Low-major plus prospect
Player could contribute at a mid-major school but should be a significant contributor as a freshman at a low-major program.

83-86: Mid-major prospect
Player should be a solid contributor and two- or three-year starter at a mid-major program.

Was that Scouts that graded our players or ESPN? ESPN does a lousy job of grading recruits. There was a guy who signed with Sacramento last year who was a 87 before he signed and a 74 after he signed with the Hornets (Dani Lopez). That left me scratching my head, then again, maybe he had a really bad senior year.

It's Scout Inc., but ESPN uses it. It's probably better to call it ESPN since that is were you would most likely find it. Anyway, I don't know how much weight one should put in the gradings. I'm sure that the actual recruiters don't pay much attention to it.

Has Weber officially announced it's signings yet? I have been checking in on their official Website and have yet to see any thing official for the women's or men's signing.

I have posted a complete list - well as complete as I could make it - 18 Big Sky programs (men's + women's) signings for the early period. With the exception of Weber State and Northern Colorado (men's) all of my info has come from official school press releases. The previous mentioned schools did not seem to want to announce theirs yet so maybe they might add to that list.

You can find the lists here

Montana and Montana State here

EWU, ISU., N. Colo., NAU, Weber, PSU, Sac State, here

mslacat, Weber State has some problems updating their website. You might want to check the Ogden Standard Examiner or the Deseret News. Both papers had short stories about the signees. I'll do my best to try and find you some links. Thanks for all of your hard work, your blog and the lists are great.

weberhoops.com does pretty good with updating mens basketball stuff, but doesn't really do anything with womens.
