Nov 11th versus GU

I sure hope I'm wrong, but our men's hoops teams haven't even shown up to be competitive with Gonzaga in 7-8 years. We haven't beaten them since Bob Hofman's era. It wasn't that long ago that Gonzaga was a 50/50 game, but now it may have well have been a lifetime ago.

I sure hope I'm wrong, but Gonzaga by 20 or more.

Can you say Clif Colimon!!!? Last 4 buckets have been 3's, bringing us back from 12 down late in the 1st to only 3 at the half. :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

Yeah I was going to comment on the end of that half. Kind of a crazy half. Pretty good first 10 minutes defensively but then GU went on that long run. And then 4 straight 3's to finish the half to cut the lead to 3?? Crazy. Lots of foul trouble and way too many TO's so far though. I think we're going to have problems stopping them inside in the second half.

Really impressed so far...hanging with the Zags, Eags are playing well. Need to step up inside but a great showing so far.

Great showing by the eags against a solid Zags team in a hostile environment. If the eags can play like this throughout the year, they have the makings of a great team. Tough loss but a great start to the Hayford Era.

Did Hankins even play?

Also, why did Omogun not even play a minute when we had all those players foul out? Is still on the team?

Just got home from the game. The interaction between the coaches and players was impressive. It is obvious the coaches and players care about and respect each other. I look for a great year for Eagles basketball

Go Eagles!!

Just got home too, agree with Clawman it was a joy to see the smiles on our players in the 2nd half. Coach Hayford was impressive during the game and impressive in the post game interview when the first thing he said was how tough it was to lose. He expected to win. He also asked everyone listening to come out to Cheney and attend our games. For those Zag fans who read this blog, how would tonight's game have gone if it had been played in Cheney? With 5 guys fouling out, it was tough to win but our guys battled for 40 minutes. See you all in Cheney Tuesday night. I didn't hear the Zag fans chanting "Eastern High School" this year like last. Great job guys. Great job coaches. Go Eagles.

Very impressed with how tough EWU was tonight agasint Gonzaga. They were obviously prepared and Hayford had them ready to go. I really thought you were going to pull it out but the buckets stopped falling.

I am glad we get you in Pullman.

Very impressive effort by the Eagles... 5 guys fouling out, 51 FTs for the Zags, and still a tight ballgame. Great effort!!

For those at the game... Chiverton was 6/12 from the 3PT line but 8/24 from the field... why was he 2/12 from inside the arc? Missed some easy ones, took some tough shots?

i think it was a combination of not the greatest shot selection and just kind of cooling off towards the end of the game. Chiverton was in a boot nursing a broken bone in his foot all summer and most of the fall up until about 3 or 4 weeks ago so i dont think we have really seen him at full speed yet. which is scary.
