WSU/USU - The Stats

In 2008 (the last matchup in Ogden) WSU finished 3rd place in the Big Sky and we beat the WAC champs by 7, Jaycee Carroll had just 14 pts and he is arguably the best player in USU history. It was one of his lowest point totals in a 3 yr span. Carroll was one of the top offensive players in the nation.

Can we do it again this year? In 2009 the game was in Logan, we had the lead at half time then fell apart in the second half and ended up losing big.

WSU vs USU all-time: 25-35
WSU vs USU in Ogden: 15-13
Neutral court, WSU is 2-1 all-time vs USU
(2-0 at the Delta Center, 0-1 in Alaska - 2006)

WSU is 8-20 in Logan all-time
WSU's last win in Logan was 1993.

WSU and USU have played each other every year since 1971 except for 1995

This year we play in Ogden in Nov and in Logan in Dec.

Both teams' best player is the point guard. Should make for a great matchup. Wesley will need to be double teamed. Is Bendall really as legit as Aggie fans are saying? We haven't seen him since his true fresh yr at USU, he went on a mission then played at SLCC. Its been a long time.

BEAT STATE!!!!!!!! BEAT STATE!!!!!!! I'm hoping to see 10K wild and crazy fans next week.... The Dee needs to be packed, in purple, and loud.

USU students aren't as fortunate as WSU students to have organized bus trips to road games for fball & bball (not sure why though). This is one of their few road games they will see. Lets show them the 2nd best student sec in the state. That isn't a dis to us either. USU is a good model to follow.

Stew had built and amazing how court advantage in Logan, his best buddy Rahe is trying to do the same in Ogden! Go Weber!

There was a time that the DEE was by far the worst place in the state to play at, and that it had the best student section.

I can only imagine how imazing the games were back then. Back then we averaged more than the Spectrum even holds. I'd love to see that again!!! All the teams in our state have been VERY good lately, us included. I think we have a legit shot at the bucket this yr.

Weber has three home games against In-state teams. With those type of odds Weber should get the bucket. I definitely think that USU will be the toughest instate game, since the teams play such similar offense and defensive schemes. I hate how the Aggies think that a their team should be more motivated because they lost to Weber two years ago. Did they not see what happened last year? If anything Weber should be the more motivated team, if we are speaking about getting revenge. Leading by 7 at half-time only to get destroyed in the second half. YIKES!! That was an awful half to sit through.

Over the past few years a few things about the WSU\USU rivalry game has me annoyed. I will say a few things that have to happen for us as the 6th man. First this game has to be a PURPLE OUT!! Invite everyone and give them some purple to wear. Bring two or three people each. Now USU will bring a lot of fans to washout our fans. That's why we need a purple out. Now this year we must no tolerate, accept or allow USU students in our student section. Either we move them or campus ushers do that. They have no buisness with us. Does anyone know how we can get all fans free purple t-shirts? They can be cheap for all I care.

It would be nice to see a purple packed Dee. I think the closest we came in my college career (now distinguished) was the WSU vs USU basketball game two years ago. I'll tell you what the students need to do: Take the poles we bought, go buy wome new plywood (cause some idiot cut the ones we have in half), paint the dam signs purple with white writing and post them up the WEEK of the game and not the day before.

It hurts me that I need to spell it out for these dudes.
