Now can Weber State Honor Lillard's number?

I don't see why WSU is waiting any longer to announce or make plans to RETIRE Lillard's number?!?!? This needs to happen. He is now representing and honoring Ogden, can't WSU return the favor and retire that number and jersey??! It needs to happen ASAP!! I know there are other past players who also deserve this honor, but Lillard has to be the top candidate. Lets man up and retire his number! Can we start a petition or something? I except nothing less than to see a Lillard Jersey hung from the Dee next season!!! :-D :-D :-D

I agree that Lillard's jersey should be retired, but the first priority is Willies and then Bruce Collins. What is ridiculous is that neither have been honored yet and should have been decades ago!!
 
retiring his number would be cool but wsu will never do it. i was in a signpost article about this subject in 2006 and nothing happened after. did u know we are the only utah college with no numbers retired. even uvu does and they have only been dI since 2004.

Totally agree. I remember reading a story way back in the signpost that addressed this issue. i think the administrators had some kind of excuse with it being difficult to form a committee and actually retire a number.... I say if that is the case, at the very least we can honor the players while not officially retiring their numbers by simply hanging their jerseys up in the rafters somewhere.
 
Bruce and Willie have been inducted into our Hall of Fame. Dame will be, as soon as he is eligible. I think that is more significant than retiring a jersy. The thing that I most want to see hanging from the rafters at the Dee is a new championship banner. :thumb:
