Word is that athletics is working with the Wildcat Store to sell throwback shirts and hats with the old logo, as well. I know a lot of people in this forum have been asking for this for a long time.

Does anybody know if it's just going to be the helmets or are they going to do the entire uniform combination?

Just helmets. The bookstore will also be selling some throwback "Flying W" gear.

For 10 days after the school announced it would use the logo on helmets for the game, WSU fans gave overwhelmingly positive feedback about its use and the accompanying merchandise sold for a limited time. Many called for it to be brought back into regular use.

It’s undoubtedly the most iconic mark in Weber State’s athletic history and seems to elicit school pride and enthusiasm wherever it’s seen.

While the school plans to use the logo for special occasions, Weber State athletics spokesman Paul Grua said there are not currently plans to make it part of the official, full-time logo lineup.

Way to not listen to the fans, yet again. Not asking to replace the current logo, just saying that for the helmet only, the Flying W is so much better.

It's gotten to the point that this doesn't surprise me anymore :ohno:

Having said that it appears that maybe they still intend to use it for special events i.e. possibly a yearly throwback football game? I would prefer the W come back for good, but I also like the idea of one throwback game a year at home where they dawn the "Flying W".
