• Hi Guest,

We've updated the site to combine all the forums that were part of the Big Sky Fans Network into one location. This will make it easier to navigate and participate in all the discussions for each school without having to have multiple accounts, etc. We are still working out some tweaks but please let us know if you notice anything.

With the migration, in some circumstances, your username could have been merged with one of your other usernames from the other forums. If this is the case, you can request to change your username in your account details page of your profile.

Offense Coordinator Issues?

I’ve got no data on this, but it feels like we’ve already seen a season’s worth of holding calls as well.

A bit of this is due to the fact our QB doesn’t get upfield enough. He sits in the pocket and then tries to roll away from pressure, which puts a lot of stress on the OL.

Run up the middle on every first down is getting old. We need to light it up. When is the last time Gilder caught a pass, when was the last time he was even looked at ? Everything is in slow motion and EB3 is getting happy feet as the world closes i n on him. Granted we dont have the running game from last year. Again if we get Pierce back might change a few things but he wont get game ready if he is even cleared yet.

When we get behind it almost seems like we panic with our play calling going 4 and 5 wide and throwing bombs down the field. It seemed as if this happened at Idaho too after we got down 14-0 in the 2nd quarter. I especially noticed this when Berriere was hurt and Talkington came in. Seemed like the majority of pass plays and a big contributor to efficiency and 3 and outs was that the plays were all long passes down field. Why not get Gilder involved in the short passing game in that situation. Run some easy pass plays like bubble screens or short routes to get his confidence level up. Our play calling is much different then last year and I'm sure AB is trying to improve that aspect. Will be interesting to see if anything changes this Saturday.

There are over 100 players and at least 11 coaches in Cheney all looking at game film trying to figure out what will make their team successful. They all hate losing as much or more than we do.
Here we have a handful of fans that have seen some games, never attend practices or meetings and know the solution.
Hmmm doesn't really add up.

 Yours is the only definitive opinion on this thread I've read.

I don't need to sit in meetings, go to practices or attend every game watching from the beer garden to know there are issues and will continue to discuss them as a fan on this board. Expect to be disagreed with repeatedly. ;)
