CAL vs TCU worst Bowl game ever. This was so sad. So hard to watch. ESPN recap was the best ever, so funny. This was very bad for Coach's chances to get out of Berkeley with a great new gig. This was just a disaster.

Really, really bad. I think there were 9 or 10 total INT’s in that game. You could chalk it up to really good defensive performances, but man...to me it looked like two one-legged men in an ass kicking competition.

It was so bad I had to watch it like a comedy. Who wants to lose the most? I thought Beau was calling a pretty good game but weak QB play prevailed. Then the Bears lost their star running back and became one dimensional, and not a good one. It seemed like the QB's could not find an open receiver thus they were throwing into coverage.
In Frisco we will see two QB's that could start on either of these teams.

There’s no doubt that game will reflect very negatively on Baldwin. TCU’s defense is pretty good, but Cal’s Offense was completely incompetent. Even after the total debacle of the first 60 minutes, how can any sane QB throw into double coverage in OT and cost yourself the game? This is especially true knowing your defense was shellacking the other team and a FG probably at least gets you another OT.

For a coach that got so much from his QBs at Eastern, he is getting NOTHING from his QBs at Cal. Cal’s best QB would struggle to even make the roster at Eastern.

The other hard part to ignore is that Cal’s offense started the year poorly, and yet they managed to get progressively worse over the season. There was no learning curve or improvement. I just can’t believe Cal’s offensive talent is as bad as those results would indicate.

The other, more disturbing observation is that both QB's played identically which looks like coaching to me. As fans, we know what we saw when Baldwin was a coach here, what's happening at Cal is inexplicable. TCU's defense scheme was to stop the plays Cal ran and there was no adjustment IMO. Granted I was busy cringing watching this train wreck.

Watching on TV is very one dimensional because you don't see anything going on downfield. I have to wonder if both QB's were throwing into coverage because there wasn't anything else open.
Beau's QB's always had good to great WR's to work with. If Cal WR's can't get open that would definitely contribute to the passing problems. In the Cheese bowl the Bears did not have Laird either so were one dimensional.
One thing I did notice is Beau himself did not throw one pass!

Yeah, Cal just can't find the talent that Eastern has. Too bad they don't have guys like Baldwin, Edwards or Tuiasosopo to recruit some of those outstanding athlete's... /sarcasm. On a serious note, it looks like they lost their top WR (Wharton) as he isn't on the roster any longer and the recent signing class has a lot of Jr College WR's.

Despite recording just one touchdown in his final season with the blue and gold, redshirt senior wideout Vic Wharton III posted 502 receiving yards, good enough for the team’s lead in 2018.

But just days before Cal football’s 2018 Cheez-It Bowl showdown against TCU, head coach Justin Wilcox confirmed that the star receiver had left the team and will not be participating in Wednesday night’s contest.

A year ago, Wharton III paced Cal receivers with 871 yards and five scores, but his numbers have taken a downhill turn in 2018. His collegiate career concludes with 1,730 receiving yards across four seasons with the Bears.
