For those of you that were at the OL forum for a long time, when did it come out? was there any actual talk going on? Was OBSF always there? /users/31/07/37/smiles/fryingpa.gif
The Viking board has been there a LONG time before OBSF showed up. Of course, things went slowly for a long time.
Heck, I've been on O-Live since 1995 or 96. I remember when there was just a news board, an opinion board, a sports board... something like 6 or 7 boards total. I forget when they first started splitting things up into the sections you see now.
I got back into it for a bit... now, if everyone just stays off that board for a while, let's see what happens. Don't post anything at all.
Thing is, I'm frying bigger fish than Obie with that one. When people come back, it's not so much "ignore Obie," it's remembering what the board is about.
I've been "on" the OL board since about July, 2004, and SFOB was not there then. He "came on" about a year or a year and a half after that (late 2005), but didn't start out quite as ignorant as he has been for the last 2 years.
I'll occasionally hang around to refute what needs to be refuted of Obie's posts, but I assert no further desire to make the discussion ABOUT him.
OregonLive is part of a consortium of "Live" websites that's overwrought and undermanaged. If anything, I should avoid that place. Of course, it's also the first message board I ever used. Stuff happens.
