This is a pretty good schedule for us considering recent years. Good home games that will be tough to win any of them, but its a long wait to get to them. Finally no lame neutral Salt Lake games.

@ Duquesne: W
vs UMass: W
vs Ball State: L
vs Green Bay: W
@ Dixie (1st ever): W (they beat SUU)
@ Washington State Huskies: L
Utah State: W
BYU: L
Fresno State: W

6-3

Last matchups:

Duquesne: 0-0
UMass: 0-0
Ball St: 1-0; We beat them in fairbanks in '03.
Green Bay: 1-1; We beat them in '03 and lost in '04-05.
Dixie St: 0-0 against D1 version of Dixie.
Washington St: 0-1; We lost in '82-83.
USU: 28-44, 17-16 in Ogden, 9-26 in Logan. Have lost last 4. Early in the Stew era, WSU was 24-28 vs the Aggies.
BYU: 11-35, 11-10 in Ogden, 0-22 in Provo. From 2004-17 we lost 15 straight. At one point we were 9-3 or 10-4 at home vs BYU, I think '03.
Fresno: 1-2 all time. W '96, L '18, L '19. According to Fresno site they are 2-1 vs Weber and according to our site we are 4-3 against the Bulldogs.

wow good win at Du Kane. i really thot it was likely to be a loss. its early in the season, long travel, hard to know if a team is ready, this normally is the recipe for a loss.

Big win for sure. Also nice to see a win in the final minute of a close game. That will be a good confidence booster for future games. I didn’t see the game, but the stats showed good shooting and defense…rebounds hurt, but the defense made up for it.

Nice job! Big win on a long travel. Go Wildcats! Carry the momentum on into the next game.

I think you are right about Ball State being the toughest out in Florida. U-Mass won't be an easy one either. In fact, all three of the teams we play would be upper tier, if not outright favorites, in the BSC. This is a really good roady for our development.

I'm really liking the toughness of this team.

Small sample size, but I am loving the defensive effort! Saw the YouTube highlights, the strip up one point with 14 seconds was huge! The defensive effort has been a big problem in the last few teams…this team already looking gritty and tough.

Would like to see them both back on the court. Need someone other than Jones to grab rebounds.
Our 4 spot got 13 RBs in that game, while our 5 spot got 2. Our guards accounted for 9 rebounds. I would say that we must get more out of our centers. Kozak seldom played center in his time here. Bassett did a bit, but he is more of a 4 as well.

We need more rebounding in general, but absolutely more from our 5 men. You could open a dead man's casket under the basket and more than 2 balls would fall in. :coffee:

the only thing that stood out to me from the box was offensive boards. The Du Kane's had 17 and just 2 for WSU. Overall being outrebounded and the shooting 43%, the 17 turnovers didn't seem bad considering our first DI opponent and on the east coast. The Dukes actually had 20 turnovers and shot worse than we did, 35.6%. Shooting over 40 at least gives you a chance for a win.
