Optimistically Looking ahead.. Cutting Down the Nets....

If, and I mean IF... The Wildcats win on Thursday, and then again on Saturday, will we be cutting down the nets? With a two game lead heading into the final four games, are we safe only winning two of them? Lets say we beat both Sac, St. and NAU at home, that should be enough to at least tie for 1st place, and be cutting sown the nets. Do you guys agree with cutting down the nets with two more games remaining? With so much basketball to be played, its hard to see how the tie-breaker will be played out yet.....

Our end goal is to win the conference tourney. I say don't jinx it by looking too far ahead of ourselves.

U must always cut down the nets once u have clinched even if it is only a share of a trophy even if its two weeks before the season ends.

We will beat sac and nau and go 10-0 at home. Rahe is 62-4 at home in reg season.

Nau is 1-7 in ogden vs rahe. Sac is 0-7.

I say we look past both these teams.

No. You don't cut down the nets until you win the tournament. I suppose you could if you won the regular season and the final regular season game was on your home floor. It just wouldn't be right to do it before the regular season is over, regardless of how far ahead you are in the standings.

I'm sure that you don't do it on a road game, unless it is the tournament championship. :twocents: :coffee:

I remember Rahe and Company, cutting down the nets after clinching the title back in 09-10. There was still a few games left to be played.... My money says this; if we win both games next week, be looking for the nets to be cut down...

Ya, I remember the 2010 net and 2007 didn't we cut the net down twice? I also remember the griz amd psu cutting down the net in the dee. I also remember us making fun of nau cutting down their home net in 07 when we were cochamps.

He took a lot of heat for that. I don't think he would do it again, unless, like I said, it was the last game of the regular season, we were clearly in first, and it was on our home floor. Otherwise you wait for the tournament.

I say don't cut down the nets until I feel strong enough to photograph it.

GREAT ROADIE WILDCATS! THAT WAS A VICIOUS STRETCH AT THIS POINT IN THE SEASON. WE ALL WISH WE WOULD HAVE SWEPT IT CUZ I HATE TO LOSE...PERIOD BUT TO GO 2 AND 2 ON THIS TRIP WAS AWESOME!!
I'm sure it will make us stronger and smarter for the Conf. tourney. My prediction is we end the season and go dancing by finishing 12-0 in conference at home.

The only net we cut down in 2007 was the net after we punched the ticket to the Big Dance. They had to wait for the final game for all the dust to settle. The last few times we have cut the nets down before the Conference Tourney we have lost. Only cut the nets after the ticket has been punched.
