Looks like VA will still be in the lineup. If anyone see's something different please post.

I think this will be an entertaining game. Befuddled that Oregon only has a 37% chance of winning per ESPN's lauded FPI rating system when the FPI rating for Oregon is 17th and MSU's is 15; seems like a 8 vs. 9 seed in the NCAA basketball tourney... a coin flip.

I know the "pundits" wonder if VA can stand up to the pressure of playing a big time game. Pundits don't watch replays apparently. Hope he acquits himself well and as a Pac12 fan, this is almost a must win after the poor showing last week by Stanford (yuck) and ASU (wtf).

If VA plays, Oregon wins BIG. 42 -27

I'm not a betting or prediction guy, but I think Lucky is about right on. I just don't see Michigan State having enough offensive firepower to hang with Oregon. The Ducks have that style where they not only have big play prowess, but they also grind on you with their running game and wear you out with both power and tempo.

Sparty will likely try to grind with their own offensive power and shorten the game with long, slow drives. Cook is a really good QB and will have to be on to extend drives on third down. Certainly, Uo's secondary looks a little suspect and I suspect they will be showing a mix of 4 and 5 deep... but none of that dime stuff they tried on us.

I still think Oregon's achilles heel is their D-coordinator getting confused. He totally botched their game against Ohio State by never accounting for the counter against the motion side. Against Eastern, he never seemed to know when to send pressure and when to back it down. That said, I don't see anything unusual enough from MSU to worry them much in this one.

Royce Freeman is an elite RB. Having that talent at RB and a solid OL will force the Spartans to try and stop the run. This will benefit the Oregon passing game and I think VA will have a solid game. Oregon will get the win. Oregon 35, MSU 21.

I seem to recall the Cotton bowl last year when Sparty beat Baylor, and Oregon is very similar. MSU will be pumped for this one and I think MSU gets the nod on home turf.

41-38 Sparty

That was a good game. Several factors are different in my mind, Baylor had just got cut out of the Championship playoff by their own commissioner giving a "co-champion" brand to Baylor and TCU despite the head to head record. Anger at a third party rarely translates as "revenge" factor against a neutral opponent. Michigan State is well coached and had something to prove in a positive way. MSU is a good team, Dantonio is a heck of a coach and they will show up to beat Oregon in their own house today. They don't see a lot of these offenses run at the level of Baylor or Oregon often and Oregon came through the grinder last year and now knows what it takes to get it done against this type of competition. Should be a good game if VA eludes the pressure and Oregon can run the ball effectively. Postscript: the receivers need to make catches (unlike the natty game). Still think Oregon gets it done but can see it both ways. Considering a career in politics :-) :ohno:

On the ESPN tickerit's saying VA hurt his index finger on his throwing hand this week.

guess it happened at EWU game...they kept it pretty quite http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/13636028/vernon-adams-jr-oregon-ducks-dealing-index-finger-injury" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

On espn right now interview with VA...asked straight up if he would make the same decision he said no..he would have stayed. His mother said she wanted him to stay

I think that was shot over the summer. At the end of the piece, they had an interview from this week. He said now that he would do it all again.

Kinda like a coach making the correct play call, huh?

I believe that part of the interview took place before the math test.

Not looking amazing in the big leagues against MSU, not sure all the blame can be placed on big play VA though.

Lucky and I probably never ought to agree again. We couldn't have collectively been more wrong on this one.

Not a red banner week. Funny how VA had a chance to win that game late and once again overthrew the open receiver. I keep seeing him lob it over Kupp's head in the Towson game in my head. In the end, Oregon played tough on the road against a good team and despite not playing excellently, had a chance to win or tie. They should focus on the Pac 12 and Pac 12 north and let the season play out for everyone else. SEC west wasn't so good Saturday. Sort of pedestrian play across the board.

I could not agree MORE. I was thinking the same thing, the Towson game!! He really has an issue with sailing balls over open WR's heads. I still am not over that Towson game, I would have loved to seen us play NDSU that year!! Damn VA!

Yep. I put that loss on Graham, but the miss to basically end the game was on VA.
