Oregon State missed the boat

What’s crazy about that too is Gary Anderson left Wisconsin to go to Oregon St. People were baffled when he did it back then and I’m sure he’s scratching his head about it now too.

Why would a coach who is a rising star sabotage his career at Oregon State? OSU will always be the poor stepchild in Oregon. Underfunded in the Pac 12, underappreciated in the state.
Did Gary Anderson realize this too late and gave up over 12 mil. to get out of there?
Bad move for Beau!

I'm not sure if it would be a bad move. It depends on OSU's expectations and investment in football. Plus, high 6 figure salary for a few years and still an opportunity to drop back down to a PAC 12 coordinator position if things don't go well. Beau's reputation as an offensive genius would still hold cred even if he couldnt find the wins in Corvallis.

In many talks I heard today he is walking away from OSU leaving 12M on the table. He will land somewhere else. I believe on the radio show I was listening to, they said it was due to lack of support of administration and the lack of $ put towards the program. I wouldn't want to jump into a program like that, although sometimes I wonder if our program will turn the same way without a change in view from our admin.

Interesting article on hiring Coach BB. Personally, I would much rather see him as a head coach in Corvallis than a partial OC at Cal.

I am happy to see that Bill Chaves is not on the short-list for WSU's newly vacant AD position.
