Oregonian Columnist Why Ducks Should Hire CBB

I can think of one, two, three...no millions of reasons. Financial security for his family...for life?

While I think Baldwin would be a great hire for Oregon, I'd be shocked if they pursued him. Rumors are swirling down here that Nike is willing to buy out Helfrich for $10mm (his agent did a great job, apparently) and then paying up another $10mm for a new coach. If they're talking about spending that kind of money, my guess is they are looking for a very high profile, proven coach.

Agree and it very well could be the guy in San Francisco....I would want out of that hot mess if I could.

This guy is just poking the Duck faithful to hear them quack. It's about views, shares and retweets.

Read the comments on that article for a good laugh. Ducks fans are quack me up.

A good reminder that Oregon has the most ignorant and arrogant fan base in the country.

For sure! That Ferdinand guy reminds me of the saying in Texas, all hat and no cattle. I'd change it to all mouth and no brains in his case.

Question is would a top flight coach take the Oregon job? Granted $$ talks, but they tried to lure a Top 10 basketball coach and ended up with a mid-major hire that has been a great hire in Dana Altman.

I have a hard time believing they'll be able lure a coach away from a current Top 25 team. IMHO

Dislike. Whomever they hire, I hope it's someone easy to root against. Hoping they continue to slip back into obscurity for a generation. Where they belong.
