I hope for his sake this improves his chances at the NFL.

Still can't root for the Ducks. They should be able to recruit better so they don't have to cherry pick other schools' players.

From what I am reading, interdisciplinary majors have no math requirement beyond math 104. Math 104 is equivolent to high school sophomore math. Pathetic.

It probably doesn't help that he was taking so many classes to graduate on time. Not at all defending him what's so ever because it's a mess that he created, but it couldn't be an easy process.

I guess Oregon got what they wanted in the end, a much less threatening game on September 5th and no QB battle.

The grass isn't always greener Vernon... :ohno:

Your right on all counts. If he is great they win. If he is a bust in their system they win because he is not playing for EWU. If he never gets into school they win. If he is having problems with basic math. he is not getting thru grad. school. I sure hope this doesn't turn out to be a really bad ending for him.

If he is challenged with basic math, how will he learn the playbook in 30 days or less?

Remember, Oregon uses large signs with 4 pictures on them to signal in plays. As long as V.G.P.A. can remember how to play "one of these things is not like the other" from Sessame Street he'll be just fine. The questions I have is why hadn't a Senior to be taken Math 104 yet?

This is turning into a bit of a much bigger issue than Oregon is letting out, or at least it appears that way. He changes majors so he can graduate in the spring, but then still doesn't have the requirements to. Oregon making it sound like this was the plan all along when they know it wasn't. As much as I didn't like the fact VA transferred to Oregon, and how difficult it has been to get there, I do hope VA gets through this and does well wherever he ends up...

While I'm terribly bummed that he isn't going to be QB'ing Eastern next season, I hope he gets himself eligible. I've heard his HS coach was the driving force behind this deal, and it sucks because there's a very good chance this wasn't the right move for Vernon. He's still a good kid and I hope he finds a way to play ball this season. I have no hard feelings, although I certainly won't root for Oregon just because he's there. By all accounts, Marcus Mariota was one of the highest-character kids you could find, and I still couldn't bring myself to root for the evil empire.

In all fairness, graduating in 4 years is tough when you play football. Hell, most non-athlete student don't grad in 4.

No doubt i'm sure he got some help here and there from the university. Lets call a spade a spade.

I have seen that posted several times about his HS coach, but my question is why? What was/is his former coaches motivation to having him go to the Evil Empire?
Plus as a former coach don't you focus more on the kids you currently have instead of hanging on to a athlete in college or was there a special bong between the two of them?

I've got your Special Bong right here, Homey !

"Deadlines are looming. Oregon opens fall camp Aug. 10, but Eastern’s summer term doesn’t end until Aug. 14, potentially delaying his availability. It is unclear whether Adams will be allowed to complete the math work before those dates and join fall practice on schedule."

Suspicion is his HS coach wanted to promote himself with Oregon. Great question is why? Unless he's somehow looking to move to the college level.
