Most the news and banter on here is negative, so to lighten it up.. It was announced today that Allstate Insurance plans to build a 75,000 sq. ft. facility and employ between 500 and 600 people. Great jobs with benefits. It'll be running by Sept. 2011.. This, as well as the opening of Hoku Scientific in Poky will bring between 700 and 1,000 jobs, and both could be huge contributors in the community as well as the ISU community. This is really grat news for Poky and SE Idaho..

Oh, and we're getting a Buffalo Wild Wings here, which, is just freakin awesome! :D

That is great news indeed! One of the newscasts tonight reported that starting salaries will be between $25,000 to $29,000, with the ability to reach $40,000 with bonuses. These aren't minimum wage jobs, as they are hiring all degree levels -- there WILL be a benefit to the community. ISU is also going to help train and assist in opening the facility. Way to go Chubbuck and Pocatello!

I can remember back in the mid-70's when I was growing up in Pocatello, when radio commentator Paul Harvey said that Pocatello was destined to become a ghost town. Little would he have known how dead wrong he was saying something stupid like that.

I was glad we got Allstate.

Great news for our region, and the positives keep building up for the Pocatello.

Are you sure about Buffalo Wild Wings?? When??
