Greeting Eagle Nation,

Been a while since our game and the tragic loss to the Rodgers family. In many ways I felt this incident would always connect our schools and communities. Unfortunately Redbird Nation experienced a loss last night when a plane went down just North of Bloomington/Normal. On board were several boosters and local business men, but also lost was our Men's Asst. Basketball coach Torrey Ward and Asst. AD Aaron Leetch.

Made me think of Eagle Nation and your loss, and how amazed And proud I was of the support of our Admin & Staff particularly Mr. Leetch. I am now witnessing outpouring of sympathy from heated rivals and opponents of other schools and it makes me so proud of what our AD for the EWU community and The Rogers Family. So glad we showed the same love and respect so many others are showing our school now. Tragedy brings out the best in a society that often seems disconnected and uncaring.

I Hope time has helped heal your wounds, and that we can rally as a community as you did for Mr. Rogers and Jake! I hope all is well with you and your fanbase.

We Fly High. Birds of a Feather.

Hey RealBird,

Aaron Leetch, your assistant AD, was part of our community from 2011-2013. He was the AD at a closely neighboring D3 university, Whitworth, before moving to Illinois State. Whitworth is where our basketball coach is from as well. It's a great university and they are saddened to hear of the accident as well. I'm sorry to hear of your community's loss.

To All,
Also our condolences to the families involved in their losses. Speaking of Jake Rodgers, surely was nice seeing him at the practice today. Three hours of practicing, and believe me those young men were bringing it, the hitting were felt all over. Jake Gall had some type of injure to his knee, here is hoping it is nothing serious. Jake Gall is becoming an Outstanding LB, like I have said before, him and Zamora are in a class by themselves. Along with Jake Rodgers at practice, Evan Cook, Matt Nichols, and Grant Williams, were also there. Some Players to watch this year, OL Spencer Blackburn, Nick Ellison, Jack Hunter, DL Jonah Jordan, Kaleb Levao, Monke Sarte, Keenan Williams, to name a few. Don't want to speculate about Jake Gall injury. Just hoping it was just a sprain. It was cold like you know what. Go Eagles!!!!! Vic Wallace
