I don't know if there was a hot looking girl behind our bench tonight. Did you see how many times that Gittens and Senglin were looking at the bench on offense? It really seems like they trying to hard not to do anything wrong and they are forcing things. It led to a few turnovers tonight. Hill looks really uncomfortable again. It seems strange that all three are on eggshells and their play has regressed. Senglin's foul trouble also hampered his play.

But when those two faltered Royce took advantage of his chances and I thought played well. He also seemed to be the one who would feed the post the most.. Like you said Gittens and Senglin just looked lost and would pass back and forth to each other. Royce stepped up

I sure noticed Senglin's struggles, however, "Buzcut" (ref) ALWAYS seems to target a specific Weber player to call quick fouls on all game long. Tonight, that honor went to Senglin and he never had much of a chance to get it going. Hill wasn't on the floor long enough for me to get a feel for. I liked the defense I saw for a minute and 1 of his 2 TO's came after aggressively grabbing a board but stepped out of bounds.

With Gittens, he has got to get under control. He has mad athleticism but he is constantly committing himself into bad situations and then is forced to throw up that floater which he has not been making. I don't know if he's struggling to fit within Rahe's system or if Rae needs to pull the reins more but he's not in sync with the offense.

See SWWeatherCat I think you have a better grasp of the game and what was really going on in the game, good comments. In my opinion the first thing we have to realize about our youngsters is that they are youngsters. They are going to have up and down gms. because the are still growing into the college game. Senglin has had a couple of those games, Gittens looked better then most against UCLA and they put him in the starting lineup and he struggled, Hill looked pretty good on the boards against SUU as the leading rebounder and then last night he had 1 TO on a pass and very few mins because Joel was a man among boys on the boards. The coaches would have been crazy to take him out. All 3 ups and downs that is the life of a freshmen. They will have flashes and that is what makes them exciting as well as the future. You can see what they will be come as the get more seasoned.

I really like all of our youngsters, and I include Joel in the mix. They are all solid athletes and have big upsides. It doesn't bother me that they have these ups and downs. So do our seniors. I love their effort and enthusiasm.
I'm hoping that they are all here for the duration. :thumb: :thumb:

I totally agree that there will be ups and downs and I am fine with that. Their play has changed the last few games and they all seem to be on eggshells and are constantly looking at the coaching staff on offense. It seems like a coaching thing to me.

Think they are looking at the offensive play call cards, as mentioned before! Makes me remember what a friend told me was said by a seasoned observer of Coach Rahe..."he has too much Stew in him!" Don't like the play call cards, never have, even with the Aggies!! How many coaches do you see using that tactic?!! :wall:

I am surprised ar how many teams DO use the cards. I have pixs of a.lotmod teams using them. LoL...I like trying ro get a compromising pic of apposing coaches usong them.
