OVC refs

I`m not one to critisize the refs but it seemed EVERY play a JSU player could be seen with a handfull of jersey, and yes many timss it did have an impact on the play.

The radio announcer agreed with you, no calls and bad calls, I didn't track but they seemed to favor JSU. The ejection was the worst.

Guys, we’ve been screaming about the quality of the OVC refs for years. Just so happened it went against you this game, and it was obvious. There is a really good article on footballscoop.com about unruly parents and officials. Obviously, this is not on the college level, but these officials start somewhere! Here in the south, it is an epidemic...seriously!!! I run chains for my son’s former HS team, here in Atlanta, and you would not believe some of the crap coming from parents. Youth football is even worse! I coached football for 6 years. I wouldn’t do officiating!

So if the officiating talent pool starts drying up then who is getting promoted to the college ranks? The OVC is arguably one of the weaker FCS conferences, is located mainly in the south, and most of their officials are HS officials as well. It is what is is... I know one of your posters is a former PAC12 ref, and I would love to hear his perspective. I have a buddy who is a Mountain West / HS ref. He says it’s very tough at the HS level, but he prefers HS to college... Hmmm.
