They haven't learned from last year.....they will not be successful everyone knows there going to go to there receivers...they have good backs and don't know how to use them...they are so worried about there passing game the line only knows how to pass block...Quincy forte only needs a little space to get what he needs...check out his highlights....Jordan is a powerback.....the quarterback throws incomplete passes every time...when he has his backs wide open...are the coaches watching film

Could you translate that into English, please?

The passing is at 100% they have some of the best recievers.....but look at the games and look how many times the qb has the backs open on quick outs...the record will be the same this year if they don't get there shit together....

I'll bite. I agree, so far Padron seems to be locked onto his three main WR's, but can you blame him? He's got less than a full month of practice time and only two games with these guys, so the familiarity isn't there yet. I'd like to see him utilize his check downs more often and I'm confident that he will do so as the season progresses. Remember BLM's first few outings? He looked just as shaky at times, if not more so.

As for the running game, I've seen flashes of some great things from QF and Talley. It'll be nice to get Bronson healthy by WSU, and see what type of aggression the Eags bring to open league play.

Im just saying being just a passing team didn't work...so give the run a chance

It would've worked last year had we not had so many injuries and our run D hadn't been so soft. We moved the ball on everyone, just didn't stop everyone. Or much of anyone. D looks a TON better this year. That being said, we do need to run the ball better to chew more clock and keep the D off the field... despite 93 yard TDs to Kaufman being fun as hell to watch.

I agree. We need to diversify. I also agree that Padron needs to get better at hitting his backs when there's nothing available downfield.

I think the coach's are doing a great job of playing to our talents. We had no running game last year, so BLM passed a lot. We haven't really had a running since TJ. Now we do, so I see us running more, but not exclusively.
Kyle will get it together. I would love to see him throwing shorter, quicker passes and he will.
I do take exception to any negative comments or comparisons to BLM, at this juncture. I just don't think it is fair to Kyle or Bo, especially since Bo helped to win a National Championship. I can only hope that Kyle will have the same success, but the jury is still out; let's not crown him yet; there's a lot of work to do.

Yeah totally correct when tj was there...check out the combined passing and rushing....that was a championship team....they need to work on the run block...the pass blocking is on point...they need to make more holes for the backs...check out the holes tj had not only that check out how many of them where quick outs...where tj killed in open field...

TJ had 4.3 speed...its a lot easier to beat anyone to the corner or through the holes with that speed.

You are correct that we need to run the ball better this year in order to be a championship caliber team, but we have done that so far. Last year we averaged 79 yards a game on the ground, this year 126, that is a big difference, if we keep that up we will be fine.

With our QB and Receivers, we are going to be a pass oriented team and we need to run the ball well to keep teams honest. 2010 is a tough comparison because we just found ways to get TJ the ball and he kept us in a lot of games early while BLM became comfortable as the year progressed. Last year we couldn't run the ball so our opponets d-line pinned their ears back against our injury decimated o-line, this year we have a healthy o-line and we are running the ball. Results will be a lot different this year. Padron needs time in the system, but he will continue to get better each week. As long as we stay healthy, we are going to win a lot of games this year...

I agree with the initial post. To be successful one must remain balance. Guy gives his opinion and people rip him about grammar....come on man!

It's hard to understand what his opinion is due to the poor sentence structure, grammar, etc., or the context (who he roots for) from which he is coming from. Also, "they haven't learned" is an untrue statement, as we have run the ball substantially better this year over last.

We all agree we need to have a better running game and try to run more often, no one is disputing that, I am just stating that so far this year we do (as this thread initially states we don't). Lets compare our first 2 games last year to this year.

2011 through 2 games - 36 rushing attempts, 42 yards, 0 tds

2012 through 2 games - 70 rushing attempts, 252 yards, 2 tds

/thread. 2x as many attempts is the biggest stat here. Last year we weren't fooling anybody in that our run game was only there to keep teams honest while we waited to pass again. So far, we've seen a real commitment to balance and making the running game a tangible threat once more. I can't wait for league play to get started.

Comparing the two QB's can not be apples to apples as the NC year we had T.J. carrying the offense until Bo started clicking with the receivers. This year we should be running the ball more consistently and our receivers are a couple more years experienced. If Kyle had completed 50% of his passes for whatever the reason we would have won in Pullman and curb stomped Idaho.I too wish Baldwin would call more short quick passing plays to get Kyle in rhythm with receivers. Our YAK has been impressive. And that will set up the long passing game as well, but I am just a game day expert so I am sure he has his reasons. He knows what he is doing far better than I.
Go Eagles.
