Let’s hope the Wildcats can build on yesterday’s win. I’d like to see less threes attempted and more inside shots. Rebounding and free throw improvements will help. They had a lot of point distribution yesterday, that will help down the road if they can keep it up.

Well, all of the things you hoped would happen, happened. Rebounding and defense won that game for us. That and Blaise taking it to the glass and Miguel hitting clutch 3s. 28 for Tomley and 21 for Threatt. Tew and Vucinic each had a bit of foul trouble, so that needs to improve. It's really good to see the defense and rebounding as solid as they are. Pepperdine has a big man who is a real load. We held him to a double, double, LOL.

It was a good game, but we still have a ways to go to reach our potential. Freshmen still getting in and making a little noise.

One of our recruits, Anthony Moore, just scored 30 and the game winner in overtime. His first HS game of the season.

I was following the game on ESPN app and could not view it. I am still concerned about chucking up too many 3s because other than Tomley’s red hot night, the team was way cold and kept popping them. Koehler went 0-8. I’ve always hated the saying, “you’ve got to shoot your way out of a slump.” If you are having an off day, quit chucking up 3s and get to the basket. To Koehler’s credit, he had 9 rebounds which is huge. I didn’t see the game, maybe they were wide open looks and not forced shots.

The other thing I would have liked to see. Is why Pepperdine got frustrated and got 3 Ts. That was huge, thanks to made free throws.

The thing I liked was the Wildcats didn’t let Pepperdine get too close and protected the lead.

This month brings a lot of competitive but winnable games. I think the Wildcats should be able to put most in the W column before conference play starts up.

The conference looks like a jumble to me. It could be another log jam.
