Sounds like someone is reading Sac Buzz. 8-)

The Hornets scoured the region and recruited passionately. Hornets coach Marshall Sperbeck was at more area games the past two seasons than Pacific-10 Conference head coaches combined.

Also that poll is awesome. It’s all about winning. I personally would vote for beer gardens but that is a CSU mandate that won't change. If people knew the tailgating policy (which is a free for all and no one messes with you unless you are being an idiot), there would be no complaints about this issue so I voted for winning. :D

This is exactly what i was talking about. I said over and over it wasn't Sperbecks fault. That we didn't get alot of locals. Locals want to get the heck out of Sacramento.

Look at most programs across the country and you will see that most of their local talent doesnt stick around...There are only a few exceptions (USC, Hawaii) maybe a couple others. If you look, the roster is filled with mostly NorCal kids...so come out the game, support the team, have a beer, and enjoy!!!

Why do we need to specificially recruit local kids? I just saw the North Dakota signing class and there were only 2-3 kids from the entire state of ND. Same for most of our BSC brethern, sans UCFE and CP.

I say get the best, if they live on the moon who cares.

Sperbeck said eight of nine players who visited Sac State last weekend signed with the Hornets. The one who got away was Folsom High School quarterback Dano Graves, the MaxPreps National Player of the Year who signed with Air Force.

An 88.9% success rate for signing visiting recruits down the stretch is damn good.

I also got a good laugh from the article. Even though the article is about Sac State and them, they still threw in the Cal and Stanford recruit classes.

It reads as though it is specifically referring to players that visited the weekend prior to signing day. It would be cool to see how many recruits were targeted and which ones got away so a success rate could be generated.
