Personal attacks/banning members, etc.

This is a fan forum. Coaches, administration, ISU employees and ISU broadcast teams are public figures. Criticism will come with the territory.

With that said, we do not want this to become a forum of personal attacks on current board members. Banter back and forth is going to happen and we all get that. However, we are not going to allow this banter to hijack threads and become personal vendettas.

As far as banning members. If a user is using multiple accounts to attack a current member it won't be tolerated. Personal threats will not be allowed. Hijacking of threads to poke fun at other board members will not be permitted.

If as a community you believe that someone is crossing the line. Ignore it and it dies a slow meaningless death. Feed it and it multiplies. We all know that.
 
Looks like I've missed something. Pissin' matches go on for pages, and since there are only two threads with more than one page........?!
 
You didn't miss anything, Otis. This board is so tame compared to other boards like Arizona State's, UNLV's, Montana's. Boards like those have people calling each other out all the time to fight, want every coach fired, every AD strung up, you name it. This one is really tame.

Once in a blue moon, an extremely negative naysayer jumps on here and does his/her best to rile everybody up. Meanwhile, some personnel from ISU forget that this isn't an ISU owned board, and then get upset and defensive when conversations aren't steered to the direction they want them to be (Galloway! Galloway! Galloway! ;) ) Then, like clockwork, balance is restored to the force, and we all live happily together. :party: Until the next time.
 
Heck...I'm more often than not amused by personal criticism of me. I loved the graphic Donny posted of PBP and me.

I do believe mean, personal attacks are out of order, but I also believe in freedom of speech. If you can't take the heat...stay out of the kitchen.

Once in a while folks get carried away saying things that are better not said. Especially as we don't know who is going to read what is said on the board. Debate is good, throwing dirt not so good.
