Maybe he left voluntarily ? Remember he applied for the Southern Utah job last year.
Anyway no big loss the QBs and offense have been inconsistent and bad since Safron and Carter left. Maybe he is OK at coaching already developed talent just not too good at developing it.
Agree that the DC needs to go too. So many parts of the program are not working it's hard to expect any progress unless changes are made from the top down.
Yesterday Ron Caragher 4-8/ at San Jose State and Brian Polian 5-7 at Nevada were canned.
Ironically like Gould they won their finale against their rivals and it still didn't save their jobs.
Few athletic directors would interpret a coach that was handed a 7-4 team and go 2-9 the next two seasons as making progress.

I agree with GL, massive changes needed here. I don’t expect staff adjustments to make much of a difference.
Interesting to see a fellow cash strapped CSU find the resources to oust an HC that is still owed $525k…and yet here we are stuck with a guy on a monstrous $175k salary for one more year.
