Hornet junior pitcher Marissa Bertuccio has been named Big Sky pitcher of the year. She led the league in wins with a 19-9 record (impressive on a team that was only 28-23, 12-6 Big Sky), and posted a 2.08 ERA and 158 strikeouts. She threw 19 complete games and 8 shutouts, and came on in relief to nail down two saved. Against conference foes, Bertuccio was 8-4 with a 1.68 ERA and held Sky hitters to a .197 batting average. Betuccio leads the way for the eight Hornets on the All-Conference team (two First Team, two Second Team, and four Honorable Mention.
3B Lewa Day is First Team All-Conference after playing in 50 of 51 games and hitting .356 with 14 homers and 1.161 OPS.
DP Lexie Webb is Second Team All-Conference after starting al 51 games and hitting .352 with 16 homers.
OF Carley Morfey is Second Team All-Conference as the only Hornet to start all 51 games at the same position (RF). She hit a grand slam last Friday against SUU.
1B Alondra Mejia is Honorable Mention. She hit .404 with runners in scoring position this year.
C Amber Rodriguez is Honorable Mention. She caught a pitching staff that posted a 3.37 team ERA.
2B Gwen Ludwig is Honorable Mention. Despite time out with an injury, the freshman was 9 of 12 in steal attempts.
Utility Caroline Evans is Honorable Mention. Evans played wherever needed (DP, P, 1B) and contributed in every spot.
