Player Visit

A player is coming either this weekend or next for a visit. I'm pretty sure the visit is unofficial so more likely than not its him and his parents coming to see the campus, facilities, and to have some informal discussions with the coaches. Most of the players are gone, but there are still a few around for him to meet with and to see if its something he likes.

The player is from Oakland...

most likely the 6-10 guy, since Damian is in Oakland right now.

2011...I don't have much other than the player is from Oakland and that he will be a SR next year. Right now, I'm under the impression, that all visits are unofficial.

It is most likely Brendan Keane, a 6'10'' post player. His family lives just south of Oakland in Alameda. His junior year in HS he averaged over 12 points and 7 rebounds a game. He sounds like a good prospect. I don't know much more about him. He may play for the same AAU team that lillard played with. This may turn out to be a big summer for WSU basketball.

I wonder if it's not Marcellous Clay a 6'9" player that jumps out of the gym... Plays on the same AAU club as Richardson, Lillard, 6'10 Keane...Weber State recruited about 5 kids during the summer months from this same AAu team like 6'6'' McClennen, Richardson, Sandoval, T.J. Taylor, Keane and so forth..... More on Clay, he was 6'6" last year and keeps growing like (Hamilton) from Alpine a few years ago.. Needs weight, but runs like a deer...more of a forward...Go Wildcats..

My sources wouldn't give me a name, but did say that the individual is a JC player from California. Also, I was told that the player was a wing. I really think one of the main goals for the Wizard is to try and get a really athletic wing who can complement our guards right away. A JC wing would be exactly what the team needs.

Guard wise, I really think Weber is fairly solid for the next few years, especially if the Wizard snags a couple of the guards he is currently courting. In all honesty, I really think Weber is in an excellent position to get all three.

Players were working out and playing in afternoons or evenings over the past three weeks. I think they are heading for home for the remainder of summer, except if they live in Ogden year round.
Coaches will be heading out for the July recruiting period.

I did hear that the coaches were pleased with the effort and intensity this summer

I heard Jordan Baker did an unofficial visit and played well. There were 2-3 others that visited or came for a look-see, but I'm sorry, I don't have names

I heard a guy named "Mook" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DOiscJZ8iDA) was there for a bit. I really see the coaching staff signing three, maybe four this fall.

Baker visited ASU on June 17. Its looking like the Sun Devils might give Weber some fits this fall for two of our top recruits, even though, I'm pretty sure Weber is going to get Baker. I'm thinking the biggest concern for Taylor will be Santa Clara. However, Weber is the top of the Sky...Santa Clara isn't anywhere close to being the class of the WCC.
