Congratulations on getting in.

You have a first class team and first class fans, I am sure you will represent the Big Sky well.

GO CATS

We did it. We are in. I doubt that many fans will make the trip to Virgina for the game but we still could win maybe.

Thank you Cats2506, I never could bring myself around to rooting for UM to beat your team yesterday.

Official NCAA bracket has us playing Bill and Mary:
http://www.ncaa.com/brackets/2009/ncaa_bracket_FCS_football.html

Is there any way we can make this a home game for us since Bill and Mary aren't seeded?

Nice selection "show". That wasn't a show, it was a blip of news. And they got the bracket wrong. Good job espn news. Anyways, GO CATS!!

No way this will be a home game. W&M is a very good team. They beat Virginia (of the ACC) and only lost to teams in their conference (Richmond and Villanova both in the top 5).
W & M was close to getting a top 4 seed, IMO.
THis will be a tough team.

Yeah, but we didn't get a home game last year against Cal Poly despite being the Big Sky #1 seed, so how does this whole thing work?

I know many of you would like to see a home game, but your team is good on the road. The bottom of the CAA is weaker than the bottom of the BSC, you guys will be fine.

Last year, Weber would have been a seed but lost the opportunity by losing the Eastern Washington. We did indeed earn the BSC autobid, but Montana was the "#1 Big Sky seed."

Actually, there is no such thing as a conference seed. The only seeds in the FCS playoffs are for the top four teams in the post season tournament. Each of four regional brackets has a named seed. Any other "seeds" are unofficial.

Last year, Montana was officially the #4 seed. This year, Montana is the #1 seed.

William & Mary is a very good team, and was probably competing with Appalachian State for the 5th psition (not a "seed""), but W&M is very beatable! No matter what we will be playing on the road, as Weber is the only 7-win team to make the playoffs. All the other teams have 8 or more wins. (Although technically, EWU is a 7-win team because the DII win overdoes not count.)

Congrats to the Big Sky for earning THREE playoff bids!!!

Nope! Not this time! And not last year, either! In 2008, Cal Poly was #3 in the nation and deserved the home game. This year, at 7-4, Weber is the ONLY team in the playoffs with FOUR DI losses. We did not earn a home game.

But money does matter. If anyone wishes to write the check to subsidize the Weber bid for a playoff home game next year, I will be the first to congratulate them!

Thanks cats2506... The South Cats definitely appreciate the North Cats support. I'm sure Weber will go East and do their best. Hopefully, the Cats come back with a W. I'd love nothing more than to beat a CAA team in their region on their home turf.

This year the bid was a factor, both WSU and W&M are unseeded, so they open up the bids and the highest bid get homefield

Lets see how many comments we can get on Ksl.com about our second straight playoff birth. Ksl seems to be the number one sports websight in Utah. Its a good chance to talk about the cats outside this forum where people other than forum members can read it.

Lets all make an effort to talk positive about the cats as much as possible on KSL
Its a great way to show support for the Wildcats!

William and Mary, thats going to be a great Matchup.

GO WILDCATS

Congrats, Wildcats. I was glad to see that you guys didn't get "punished" for scheduling two FBS games this year. UM and WSU battle like hell during the regular season, but I'd love nothing more than to see you guys go down and take care of business in CAA country. I wish the comittee would quit setting up the bracket to have two Big Sky teams meet in the 2nd round, which is what will happen if we can take of SDSU at home and EWU beats SFA. Best of luck on Saturday!
