podcasts on goeags.com

Just wanted to let you people know that we have some changes coming to the goeags.com website. Starting next Monday (8/12), I will have a weekly podcast with Athletic Director Bill Chaves. For the first podcast, we will talk scheduling, which I know is a hot topic for some of you on this site. ;) I will also have some football news that hasn't been addressed much in the media at the end of the podcast.

Starting on Monday the 26th, we will have raw interviews with fall sports coaches each week and we will also upload our "Eagle Minutes", which play twice a day on our radio partner, 700 ESPN. In case you miss them when they air on the station, or if you live out of the area, you will now be able to access those on the website after they air on the station. They will probably be uploaded around noon for the morning minute and around 5pm for the afternoon one. Some days they may be later, particularly on Mondays because of the coaches show.

Then sometime after each game, maybe as late as sometime Sunday, depending on travel, we will have game recaps available on the website with highlights and interviews from our broadcast. Just boiling the game down to the key plays and thoughts. The first recap will be uploaded either late on Saturday after the OSU game or sometime Sunday.

To access all this audio, just go to the toolbar (not sure if that's the right term - the area that says "sports" "schedules", "inside athletics", etc.) and arrow over "multimedia". You'll see the menu drop down and at the bottom of the list click on podcasts and you can click on what you want to hear.

I'm not currently a twitterer, or whatever you want to call it, but I will be entering that world. I'lll post what my twitter feed is and you can ask questions for a coach or for our Chaves podcast and I will use the best and/or most popular questions in some of those interviews. I'll also try to get an e-mail address up for those of you who are not in the twitter world.

I'm looking forward to the season coming up and hope you all listen to our first podcast on Monday! It will be up sometime late morning or early afternoon.

Very cool Larry! :thumb:

As I've mentioned on here before it would be great if the coaches show on 700 could be uploaded into a podcast. Podcasting is really convenient for those of us with work and kids sports committments on Monday evenings at 6:00. :twocents:

My question is where will the Coaches Show be this year. NQ room is not availible with the remodel at the old Q???????????????????????????. Are all our activites headed to HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOters now?

Larry is there any way of throwing up the national championship broadcast? Still haven't heard it yet and since I was there would love to hear some of your calls.

Good suggestion, Kalm. I will see if we can get the coaches shows recorded and up on the podcasts page.

Ron, the football show will be in the same place it was last year and the same day and time, Monday at 5:30 for highlights and 6:00 for the radio show. NQRC has re-named and remodeled the place, but we will still be in there. It's now called Studio E.

I'll see what we can do about the Delaware game too...I have parts of it, but don't think I have the whole game. Next chance I get, I will see if the radio station still has it in their archives.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions! Our first AD podcast should be up before noon on Monday.

Our first podcast with Bill Chaves is now up on the goeags.com website. Here's the link:

Also, I'm now in the twitter-verse. Feel free to follow me @EWUradio. I'm about as swift as a frozen river about this twitter stuff, but I'll get there sooner or later.

I have a podcast up from today's scrimmage featuring interviews with John Graham, Aaron Best and Beau Baldwin, plus a few comments from the broadcast team (Sorensen and myself) and even a few words at the end from a special guest. Here's the link:

Regarding the request for the Delaware game, the problem is we are limited to less than 15 MB per file in our uploads, or around 16 minutes of audio per file. We would be looking at 20-some segments to get all of it up there, so I think that is not going to happen. I will put the first coaches show up, probably the morning of the 27th, and I'll see how that goes as to whether we will keep that up as a weekly feature. Remember, I am on twitter @ewuradio to follow and get updates as to what we will have on the podcasts as I put them up.

Larry, call me another highly interested in the NC radio program. Even a 15-minute "highlight reel" of audio commentary from the game would totally suffice.

And PS- glad to be hearing you for another season!!!

I just watched the last 18 +minutes of the NC game with my 12 year old after throwing the ball around in the yard:

1). It's still glorious...and...

2). He informs me that he will be going to Frisco THIS year...

I want to thank everyone for listening to our podcasts with Bill Chaves. We will have another one up on Monday, talking TV, increased radio and print coverage and more. Plus I'll have another post-scrimmage podcast on Saturday with player and coach interviews this time. Also Monday, we'll have our Eagle Minutes that air starting Monday on 700 ESPN. Plus our weekly head coach interviews will also start and I will try to get the Monday night coaches show recorded and get that up as well. Should be plenty to listen to...

Answering a couple of other items from other discussions...EWU Ranger hit the nail on the head regarding the verbal commitment that came in last month. Those websites we talked about in the podcast do a good job of keeping track of what is going on with athletes in the Northwest.

Football charters this year are to Toledo, North Dakota and Cal Poly. OSU and Montana are bus trips for the team and they will go commercial to Sam Houston (not too hard, big planes to SLC connecting to Houston) and to ISU (flying into SLC and bus up).

Larry could you interview Matt Nichols and post that for us? I think many Eagle fans would love an update from one of our all time great players. No doubt Erik Meyer and Bo Levi would also attract a lot of interest as follow up interviews. Also curious how Kyle Padron is doing.

Wow we truly have become "Quarterback U" with the string of QB's we've had in Cheney.

I put up the bulk of the coaches show tonight, so it's online in case you missed it.

The audio is not great, but you can tell what we are talking about. We'll work on that for future weeks.

JoinTheEAA: If Matt Nichols is in town, I'll get him for an interview if I see him. I don't have the technology to do a phone interview, though. Sorry...

Thanks Larry. Sorry I missed you in Corvallis. Good trip. See you Saturday and we will see you in Toledo. I will check to see if Matt Nichols is here this fall, assume he will be at some point. Go Eagles.

Vote for Vernon below.

No offense to Boyd from Clemson, but his numbers are not that impressive, 18/30 for 200 some yards and 42 yards rushing compared to Adams 23/30, 400+ yards passing and over 100 yards rushing. Kinda a no-brainer, but the heavy east-coast ACC/SEC bias will prevent an FCS player from out west winning this.

Larry,

Thank you for posting all of the podcasts, including the Monday Coaches Show on goeags. It's nice to be able go back and listen.

It was also good to hear you interviewed on the FCS Wedge podcast this week. Keep up the good work! :notworthy:
