Who does everyone think will be appointed this year's Captains and why?

If you voted for "other", explain why.

My votes went to Edwards and Johnson. Edwards, because of his work ethic and Johnson for his leadership skills and devotion to come back for a 6th year.

Both will be huge for EWU this season.

i voted for "Zach Zachson"

I did as well. I wouldn't be too surprised if Padron earned the respect of his teammates and was voted offensive captain, with the way the Coaches have been praising his leadership and work ethic.

I got to go with Paul Ena, senior lineman, for D Captain who does the most effective and consistent job on the DL. He is tied as the fumble recovery leader of all-time and will have it to himself by the end of the season. Iron Eagle recipient this year. When he was freshman he was moved from his natural position at linebacker because of injuries -- never complained -- even though he set a school record for tackles at playoff game vs Stephen F Austin with 20. He is an incredible person and athlete and Beau just loves the kid and his work ethic!

Padron will likely be a captain... If not one of THE captains, then in the same capacity as BLM his first year - one would imagine.

Love the Johnson boys but I understand that they weren't super vocal captains. I recall one of the coaches saying as much, I think, at the end of year banquet or at the Killin. Amazing athletes for sure. Hope upon hope he stays "in tact" the entire season :::::knock on wood:::::

Whoever they decide upon, just hope they lead by example, are hard workers, and that they respect others and know some humility to boot.

"Attitude reflect leadership, captain."

Great post and good choice. :thumb:

I went with Post, and frankly, I'm surprised no one else has yet. Will is a good lead by example type guy. He excels on and off the field, and is a hell of a teammate. Aside from QBs, I think O-lineman make the best team captains. It's the most selfless and (again, other than QB) cerebral position on the field. Posty has proved himself to be a real leader for the team. But then again, I could be a little biased towards the OL. :)

Not a bad choice on here...I went with Edwards on O. Minnerly on D.

I've heard Edwards is a really hard worker and we know he is extremely talented. Considering he has come from being a walk on to an All American, I think that says enough. He is a great talent, and I think everyone on the team respects him, he seems to be not only a great talent, but a great teammate.

Minnerly has given everything he has to EWU. He changed positions and excelled on the opposite side of the ball. He is the definition of an Eastern Washington football player, hard worker, willing to do anything it takes to help the team win. Plus he's a local kid and deserving of it.

Can't go wrong with any of them. Is it 8/30 yet?
