• Hi Guest,

We've updated the site to combine all the forums that were part of the Big Sky Fans Network into one location. This will make it easier to navigate and participate in all the discussions for each school without having to have multiple accounts, etc. We are still working out some tweaks but please let us know if you notice anything.

With the migration, in some circumstances, your username could have been merged with one of your other usernames from the other forums. If this is the case, you can request to change your username in your account details page of your profile.
  • Hi Guest, want to participate in the discussions, keep track of read/unread posts and more? Create your free account and increase the benefits of your eGriz.com experience today!
  • Guest, do want an ad free experience on BigSkyFans.com among other benefits? Upgrade your account today!

Simply click your profile name > account upgrades > BigSky Club > choose between the year long subscription (two free months) or month to month

Thanks for the continued support. Cheers!

Hey guys,

Ads on mobile have become significantly more prominent over the past month and have completely ruined my browsing experience on my phone. I literally cannot load the threads any more, which is unfortunate as that was my primary way of reading this forum.

Whoever is the webmaster would it be possible to reduce the ad space to a single banner on the top or bottom of the page rather than interspersed throughout the thread? This would reduce the # of images needing to load and should salvage the experience for mobile users.

Having the same problems. Takes forever to load and some are even distasteful. Going to pay for a good ad blocking service and hopefully that will fix it.

I just noticed the board is now responsive for mobile. Nice upgrade! Makes it much easier to read. Haven't really been affected by the ads though.

The funny thing is all my ads are from sites I've shopped with before. If you're getting nudie ads, that's probably a function of the websites you frequent! :thumb:

One way to keep yourself free from cookie'd ads is to do all your online shopping using the private browser option.

:+1: :crybaby: :puppy:

Hilarious, but the ads aren't "nudies' or places I've shopped before. They are for a t-shirt company, which uses particularly busty women. I haven't purchased any t-shirts.

Same here.

Glad you are experiencing the same thing, because Dopa just roasted me

Sorry guys, I don't know what the deal is with all the recent ads. I don't actually "run" the site here in terms of having admin rights...just a mod. All of these sites are owned by Chris/bigskyfans.

A couple of years ago I actually thought about migrating to a new forum and asked about it, but there didn't seem to be a lot of interest in that idea. Most people didn't want to leave this site. There are a lot of benefits to keeping the site here, but unfortunately we have limited ability to improve functionality (embed tweets, etc).

Would the site continue to be free? I like the design of this site, but wouldn't be opposed to a new layout. The ads have become kind of a nuisance.

I haven't personally been experiencing crippling issues with ads, so I can't speak to the issues that others seem to be addressing. It seems just about every site has banner ads and other things popping up half the time.

That being said, I think it's hard to create new habits. We are getting more and more participation on this forum, and it would suck to reduce the amount of forum participation by changing...unless it's absolutely necessary.
