Poll: Who will lead the defense?

Defense had a lot of turnover between graduation and the portal and only have 1 returning starter (not including players with a spot start). There are quite a few players that saw action returning, however I went with transfer linebacker Will Leota.

On field it's got to be Leota. We brought him in for that.

Eion Moore is probably a guy who will lead when on the field, but especially on the sidelines. He's 24 and has stuck around - he's got to be vocal in the locker room and the sidelines to help shape this very young defense.

The kid sure is a player. It really hurt when he was ejected in game 1.

He has been solid. If I recall, you were high on Phoenix Rose. How is he progressing? Do you think he will see playing time this year?

We are going to find four games and hopefully the playoffs to use him to keep the redshirt -- sky is the limit for that kid. Putting on some LBs while maintaining speed is the goal right now.
