For first of the 2 main FCS polls are in...
Here's what the Coaches have:

1 North Dakota State (26) 6-0 650 1
2 James Madison 6-1 622 2
3 South Dakota State 5-1 600 3
4 Kennesaw State 5-1 555 4
5 Weber State 4-2 532 5
6 Montana 5-1 516 8

7 Villanova 6-1 480 7
8 Furman 4-2 467 11
9 Nicholls 4-2 448 12
10 Illinois State 4-2 380 13
11 North Carolina A&T 4-1 369 14
12 Montana State 5-2 367 6
13 Central Arkansas 4-2 336 16
14 Jacksonville State 5-2 269 18
15 Northern Iowa 3-3 264 10
16 Princeton 4-0 224 19
17 Sacramento State 4-2 221 NR
18 Youngstown State 4-2 197 17
19 Austin Peay 4-2 170 NR
20 Towson 3-3 152 9
21 Dartmouth 4-0 133 NR
22 UC Davis 3-4 108 21
23 New Hampshire 4-2 96 NR
24 Delaware 3-3 63 15
25 UIW 4-2 39 NR

After dismantling Montana State IN Bozeman, the coaches still has the Bobcats ranked higher than the Hornets. Honestly, at this point, it's just pure biased... :ohno:

Yep, and UCFE will ALWAYS be ranked higher too. If Sac had a 3-4 record they wouldnt even be on the list.

At EOD, if UCFE and Sac have same records, UCFE is chosen.

Remember, we are a State school.

The FCS STATS Poll is in (usually, this is the more reliable poll (FCS version of the AP Poll)) but more biased...
1 North Dakota State (155) 3,923 6-0 1
2 James Madison (2) 3,740 6-1 2
3 South Dakota State 3,612 5-1 3
4 Weber State 3,363 4-2 4
5 Montana 3,107 5-1 8
6 Kennesaw State 3,022 5-1 7

11 Illinois State 2,218 4-2 14
12 Montana State 2,125 5-2 6
13 Central Arkansas 1,849 4-2 16
14 Northern Iowa 1,814 3-3 10
15 Sacramento State 1,677 4-2 NR
16 Jacksonville State 1,585 5-2 17
17 Princeton 1,301 4-0 21
18 Towson 1,077 3-3 9
19 Youngstown State 1,012 4-2 19
20 Austin Peay 869 4-2 NR
21 Dartmouth 717 4-0 NR
22 New Hampshire 713 4-2 NR
23 UC Davis 509 3-4 24
24 Delaware 403 3-3 15
25 Central Connecticut State 274 5-1 NR

Once again, Montana State is ranked higher just like the coaches poll. This is quite disappointing...

hmm...I honestly think that if we were still going with our official "legal" name, California State University - Sacramento, it'd be easier for us to be recognized for these voters East of the Mississippi (or simply people not in the Big Sky)

Screw ‘em. Win this week and crash the top 10.

Massey always has the most accurate rankings anyways....

Polls don't mean anything guys. We keep winning and we're in the playoffs, it's that simple. One week at a time...

I agree that rankings and polls are completely subjective and meaningless. Case in point, still having MSU ahead of the Hornets. That makes no sense any way you choose to look at it.

It was an MSU home game, not on the road. The game didn’t end in a manner where it could have gone either way or in some fluke fashion. The Hornets were up by multiple scores almost the entire game. Lastly, the records are comparable. It’s not like a 1-4 team barely upset a 4-1 team at home after an onside kick and Hail Mary. One team is 4-2, the other is 5-2. One beat the other by 2 scores after leading by 20 well into the 4th.

It’s not a difficult call which team is better.

That all said, none of it matters. The Hornets just need to focus on winning their conference.

I'm with Kadeezy and the others. Just beat Berkeley in Montana without the education, Grill State, and that school.across the causeway, and it is a mute point. Just win baby!

I totally agree that most polls are subjective and totally useless but the two polls we're talking about, STATS (FCS' version of the AP Poll) and Coaches, are the two official polls recognized by the NCAA and are used by the committee when filling out the playoffs bracket. Now I know I might be looking WAYYY ahead here but it does really does matters. Especially when it comes to having a home-field advantage (= more revenue, etc.) and it's scary that just like on the FBS level, there's a West Coast bias...

...now we can put this to rest for now until the Hornets can beat Montana and win at least 7 games... :)

It matters in 6 more weeks. Not now.

In 6 more weeks, if the Hornets win 4 (or more) games, they’ll likely be ranked ahead of many of the teams they aren’t ranked above now.

Alright, we'll have to wait till tomorrow for the official release of the Polls but this is where I have us ranked rn based on SOS (who we've played and how we close the games were)

1. North Dakota State (7-0, 3-0 Missouri Valley): 22-0 win over Missouri State (1-5, 1-2)
2. James Madison (7-1, 4-0 CAA): 38-10 win over William & Mary (2-5, 0-3)
3. South Dakota State (6-1, 3-0 Missouri Valley): 42-23 win over Indiana State (3-4, 1-2)
4. Sacramento State (5-2, 3-0 Big Sky): 49-22 win over No. 5 Montana (5-2, 2-1)
5.Weber State (Most people have Weber as the team ahead of us in the Big Sky but we've played a much tougher schedule than they have bout Out of Conf and well as BSC so far. Also, they don't have to play Montana State so that's an extra win they should have (problem with a bloated league)
6. Kennesaw State (6-1, 2-0 Big South): 55-10 win over Presbyterian (0-7, 0-4)
7. Villanova (6-1, 3-1 CAA): Bye
8. Illinois State (5-2, 2-1 Missouri Valley): 28-14 win over Western Illinois (0-7, 0-3)
9. Montana (5-2, 2-1 Big Sky): 49-22 loss to No. 15 Sacramento State (5-2, 3-0)
10. Montana State (5-2, 2-1 Big Sky): Bye
11. North Carolina A&T (4-1, 2-0 MEAC): at Florida A&M (5-1, 3-0), postponed to 2 p.m. ET Sunday
12. Central Arkansas (5-2, 3-1 Southland): 31-30 win over Northwestern State (0-7, 0-4)
13. Northern Iowa (4-3, 2-1 Missouri Valley): 42-27 win over South Dakota (3-4, 2-1)
14. Furman (4-3, 3-1 Southern): 27-10 loss to The Citadel (4-4, 2-2)
15. Nicholls (4-3, 3-1 Southland): 17-0 loss to Sam Houston State (5-3, 4-1)

I think that's a pretty solid top10 and not many can dispute that, but knowing these voters history, we're probably gonna barely squeezed into the top 10. Most of these "experts" do the blame game against SAC because instead of crediting the Hornets, they'll find a reason (off day, bad match-up, injuries, etc) to discredit the win

The media poll should have us a bit higher (I hope). Again these polls are embarrassing if you actually follow FCS football.

We just gotta keep winning and let them know who we are by doing this consistently!

I would have us at the 4 spot right now.

GAS: North Dakota, despite the crazy BSC-centric schedule, is no longer in the Big Sky....

If I'm not mistaken, wins against North Dakota this season still counts as BSC win and towards the conference championship. They, themselves, cannot win the conference title even if they end up with the most BSC wins

Next year, they're gone. It's about darn time...they and their QB (Nate Ketteringham) can have fun in the overrated MVFC

It’s pretty laughable that the Hornets went into Bozeman, dominated and led by 20 points into the 4th quarter, and wound up with a double digit win YET still were ranked behind them last week. If that weren’t enough, the Hornets demolished a team likely better than the Bobcats by an even worse margin yet now only sit ONE spot above that same MSU team?????

I’m utterly convinced these pollsters have no idea what they’re doing. They clearly don’t watch the games.

So I won’t pay any attention to their rankings. They’re utterly meaningless as far as I’m concerned. Don’t care if they use them for playoff seeding. They’ve lost all credibility — if they ever had any to begin with.

Where we ranked in the playoffs could mean home seed advantage on election Sunday. So scr*w the polls for now, but if we don't get a home seed if we end up deserving it, I'd be really pissed

Also...we're only talking about to the two NCAA recognized polls, (STATS and Coaches)

I don't know why STATS hasn't posted to NCAA.com yet, but they HAVE put out the new rankings. We are #7, ahead of #8 IL State (5-2) and behind #6 Kennesaw State (6-1). The Kitties have bounced back to #9. Not so sure I like THAT so much. The Griz dropped to #10.
