Why don't ya just kick um' while your down. Poor Bungles. They were paying their players to baker I guess.

Also, hearing reports that ISU is "academically hiding" two key recruits. They can't be announced till they are academically eligible. Don't know how good they are, but since ISU, from what I know only had three scholies available, they must be under some other type of financial support. Heard one was stolen away from UM.

Uh, okay! I'm really curious to find out what infractions occurred. If it comes out that the Bengals were paying players, that is not only going to result in some serious penalties, but also, be a huge embarrassment for ISU. They couldn't even with with paid players. Maybe they will have all of their wins forfeited from the 2011-2012 season.

Wow!! I guess Tingey has his hands full. If there is a guy that can figure out that mess, it is him. Takes a Weber State graduate to make Idaho State relevant.

The recruits are Ayibakura Preh, a 6-9 center from Nigeria by way of Miles Community College, who was announced yesterday; and reportedly, Tomas Sanchez, a 6-3 guard from Fresno City College, who has not been formally announced yet. There may be another recruit who is enrolled and has not been announced yet. ISU has two players who are eligible under NCAA and Big Sky standards, but ISU is requiring them to go to summer school because they don't meet ISU's self-imposed higher academic standards for junior college recruits. (This is an athletic department-wide requirement in response to the APR difficulties the football program was experiencing.)

I have no idea what the potential NCAA infractions are, it will be interesting to see what the circumstances are. The good news is the school is self-reporting. It will also be interesting to see if the NCAA takes action against NAU, who sent Mike Adras into a forced "retirement" because of alleged practice violations.

So let me get this straight.

Deane Martin, the interim coach, claimed a booster offered to help pay players, families, and coaches. Martin does not come forward with the information.

Martin does not get the permanent job, and he sends the letter with the accuasations the day after he is passed over.

So, it looks like you either have a case of really bad sour grapes. Or, you have a case of a guy who gives the impression that he might have used that money had he got the job. Either way, it does not put Martin in a good light.

My guess is the truth is probably somewhere in the middle, at least that\\\'s how it seems to always turn out. Maybe if Martin randomly threw out the name of a booster, ISU will be able to show it was sour grapes. If it is an influential booster or one who is around the players a lot, then in the words of Ricky Ricardo,

Bengals, you have got some splainin to do.

So, let me get this straight, this NCAA investigation is predicated on Martin's lack of integrity? He is blackmailing the school with information that only he knows about, since he didn't get the HC gig? If anything or person should be investigated, it should be him. Sounds like ISU dodged a bullet. The more that comes out the more everyone can see how big of a dirt bag Martin truly is.

YIKES!! I think things are going from bad to worse in Poky. Gotta wonder how bad the Bengals would have been if they weren't getting bought players. I'm guessing that Jeffrey might be getting the axe over this.

Might be time for him to get the axe... word is that he and the booster are good friends, and that it wasn't exactly a secret that the booster was toeing the line frequently...

"Toeing the line" means adhering to the rules, Jon. I think you might be looking for a different phrase to describe this relationship.

Who is the booster?

I can't feel to badly for Jeff. He is the AD and the buck stops with him.

I suspect all will come out in due time.

I've heard enough about the bengals and their continued decline in athletics. They can't even win when they cheat. Let's move on to a more interesting topic like Joker and the Thief or maybe who got chopped off of Master Chef last night :wall:
