Portland State at University of Portland

*Should* win.

MSU blew UP out in Bozeman. We should be able to drive across the river and bring a win home, considering that they barely beat Idaho State at home.

I dunno. They've got a 6'11" fellow from the Netherlands who shoots pretty well (13 in the MSU match). Oddly, they were significantly outrebound by MSU. Our team's very much in the making. Our bench was terrible against Oregon. And we might as well have had no assists against O. Every man for himself? I agree, we "should" beat Portland. But.....

Ugh. 5 Minutes to go and I don't want to see the end of this one. Looking at the stats, the only thing we're good at is free throw shooting. Assists? We have 10, they have 20. Nuf said.

This was hard to sit through.

So many open shots for UP, no wonder that they shot the percentage that they did.

Some notes:

- Dre needs to pass the ball in transition. No need to take it to the hoop when you have teammates.

- Free throw shooting was great.

- Cataldo. Not sure what to say.

- Man, we missed a lot of short shots. Layups and the like.

- Moore and Parker give me hope.

- Our defense against the backdoor passes is amazingly terrible at times.

- The Chiles Center had the atmosphere of a cold wet sponge. Must have been the Thanksgiving holiday.

Let us forget this and move on...

Free throws were fine. The problem was the field goal shooting. Hot shots Dre and Lateef were terrible. And - I sound like a broken record here - they had 22 assists, we had 12. Apparently, we have no one willing to share.
