Portland State Game

Portland State is having a horrible year. I would sure hate to be the team that gives them a little relief. My guess is that we will be fine in this one. I don't think the coaches will allow another let down like we had against SUU. We are playing at a good level now, but need to continue to improve.

I think we need to use this game to work on things that may not have been as useful to us as we had hoped. I think we need to work on our running game, our long passing game, Our deep passing defense, and our blitzing game. This game may also be a chance for us to get a little more work in on our depth.

I'll be glued to my laptop all day, Saturday.

GO WILDCATS!

Portland State has nothing to play for except for upsets at this point. Hope the Cats take this game seriously. If there's anything we've seen in the Big Sky this year and every year is that any team is capable of beating any other team.

That being said, hope the Cats pound the snot out of PSU.

Take it one week at a time. This week it is Portland State. Each week is a new game, a clean slate. You can't look at records. We should see both teams are 0-0. Weber just needs to show up, play stingy defense and do their thing on offense. Hold onto the ball and take full advantage of any red zone opportunities. Portland State wants to get the monkey off their back and get a W. Weber needs to ensure, through focused effort, that that doesn't happen this week. Keep on grinding and get the W in Portland Weber!

My take on this game is Weber should be able to run the ball, and once PSU loads the box to stop it Weber's pass game will open up the field. This game really does look like a potential trap game but if Weber plays the way they have over the last few weeks Weber should leave Portland with a W.

PSU isn't as bad as their record would indicate.

Looks to me like they have had too many turn overs and an inconsistent offense. It would seem that their defense is adequate, but is called to the field too often. I think that our D could be the difference maker here. Our running game may help us keep our D fresh.

This may be the game for a more conservative attack, with the occasional shot down field.

28-3 and it's not even halftime

:o Tyler Downs with the run and just blew a dude up. Learned that one from EWU.

"blew up" is putting it mildly. Not sure if it was a LB but it was a good sized player that was ejected a foot off the ground and a few feet backwards-- that was nasty!

Did PSU lay down after things started going Weber's way or are they just this bad?

59 is most points put up on PSU @ISU; 20 is the least @BYU(that's is one awful Cougar team).

It was a defensive lineman. That was incredible/hilarious.
