I know, it's pretty bad. I don't know the story behind it, but I would imagine that they lost a game somewhere and had to find a quick fix to finish their schedule. If they did deliberately schedule those two schools, that's pretty weak, though. And it absolutely kills the conferences strength of schedule. WTF, PSU?

I will say, that is a great opportunity and experience for the players at Willamette. I know how I felt when we played WVU, Texas Tech, Oregon State etc...

BTW, I live in Portland now, and I really wish that we would have had the chance to play in the renovated stadium here when I was playing. All of the sudden, it went from one of the weirdest venues in the BSC, to one of the best.

dumb, dumb, dumb what were they thinking? i understand wanting to get more home games and exposure in the portland area but their chances of making the post season with that schedule are not good.

It's Willamette and Southenr Oregon, I believe, correct?

Not a good set of non-conference home games to set the tone for their new stadium.

I saw a lot of Portland State fans (although they only number about 26) are upset about the schedule as they constantly have to deal with the perception they are a D-II team and not on the level of Oregon or Oregon State. This schedule does not help that perception.

It wasn't too long ago Portland State was bringing in pretty good out of conference games. When they were D-II, they routinely scheduled Big Sky teams for home-homes, including Idaho and Eastern. They recently brought in Grambling... a terrible team but one that draws well. But interest has waned in Portland as they've been a bad outfit for several years now.

This game gives them 6 home games. Possibly Willamette was all there was to choose from on that weekend?
Are they better off with 5 home games and another open weekend late in the season?
