Portland State @ Montana - Guess the score

Griz 28
PSU 17

I think that the Griz Defense will keep PSU's offense in check for the most part. I seriously doubt that PSU will score 68pts

Taking the last couple games into account, I'd say Montana wins 124-122 after a number of interceptions, failed punts and snaps on PSU's part.

However, since a win against the Griz could make everyone forget all the bad about this season, my vote goes for PSU 45 - Griz 42.Last edited by on 2007-10-29, 14:08

On the Vikings

Portland State beats a No. 1-ranked Montana team in Missoula about as often as it scores 68 points in a game and loses.

Actually, the Vikings never have won a Big Sky game at intimidating Grizzly Stadium. And Saturday, they’ll rely on a freshman quarterback, Drew Hubel, making his first road start. If the Viking offensive line can give Hubel the protection he got last week versus Weber State — a big if — this game could be a shootout. And you can never count out PSU offensive coordinator Mouse Davis in a shootout.

The pick: Montana 42, Portland State 41

PSU (2-6, 2-3) at Montana (8-0, 5-0)
When, where: 11 a.m. PT Saturday, Grizzly Stadium, Missoula, Mont.

Radio, TV: KTRO (750 AM), Comcast SportsNet

• Portland State can’t win the Big Sky, but it could spoil Montana’s perfect season. The Vikings then finish Year One under Jerry Glanville and Mouse Davis with games against Montana State and Northern Colorado. A run of the table with freshman quarterback Drew Hubel at the helm would sure make the offseason a lot brighter. … Montana leads the conference in points scored (31.6 per game) and fewest points allowed (11.2). Portland State is at 30.0 and 39.1. … Incredible performance by Hubel in last week’s 73-68 loss at home to Weber State — and he had multiple receivers open on almost every play. Amazingly, his completion percentage went down —it was 76.4 percent (13 of 17) in garbage time, and he hit 62.5 percent (35 of 56) against Weber State.

Two picks for the game to stay close. I'm glad some of you are staying positive. The question is how many fans have stopped paying attention after this stretch of bad games. I know there are a few.
