Portland State players in trouble with the law

PSU hoops stars held in Mexico

Two Portland State basketball players are in a Mexican jail after an altercation in the resort town of Cabo San Lucas but have not been charged, U.S. consular officials confirmed Tuesday night.

Lorena Blanco, spokesperson for the consulate in Tijuana, said a list of attorneys has been sent to the families of PSU players Jeremiah Dominguez and Scott Morrison.

She said Morrison, not Dominguez, beat up Kyle Meagher, 23, of Michigan.

"Dominguez was not the one who beat him up but he ran away from police and that's what got him in trouble. Police threw him on the ground and punched him because he resisted arrest." she told The Associated Press.

Guard Jeremiah Dominguez and center Scott Morrison played on the Vikings team that went a school-record 23-10 and made it to the NCAA tournament for the first time in the team's history.

The Oregonian newspaper quoted Alejandro Rojas, general manager of the Balboa World Class Clinic, a hospital where Meagher was taken, as saying "Kyle was choking, his gums were all damaged, his lower jaw was broken into pieces and he had internal bleeding. You couldn't do damage like this with a baseball bat - it's worse."

Doctors put in eight screws and two titanium plates in Meagher's jaw, Rojas said.

Who knows? Maybe they wouldn't mind...
I wonder what sort of actions PSU is going to take against them?

I am sure they will just have to do some community service or something minor. I bet they will be back on the team. Morrison is a Senior and is gone anyway.
