Portland State University's foundation has booked another impressive year of fundraising. The PSU Foundation raised more than $46 million from private donors in the fiscal year that ended June 30, an 18 percent increase from the previous year and the fifth consecutive year of increased donations.
Donations have tripled from the $12.8 million the foundation raised in 2010 when Françoise Aylmer was hired as CEO.

"The generosity of our donors lies at the heart of our success," said PSU President Wim Wiewel, in a news release. "They understand the crucial role that private philanthropy plays in the lives of our students and the future of our community."

The university's endowment is up 44 percent over the last five years to more than $57 million. Scholarships are up 18 percent in the last year.
Donations also support capital projects, including expansion and renovation of the university's business school and basketball arena.
“Donor support is fueling unprecedented growth, renewal and opportunities on our campus,” Aylmer said, in the news relase. “Philanthropy has the ability to transform PSU.”
