Portland winter weather question

I've been to Portland once and it was during the summer of, I believe, 1984.

But, I was wondering does it snow much in Portland?

Depends on the year... Usually once or twice a year we get snow on the valley floor. Nice timing, we may get some snow mixed in the rain tomorrow.

I worked for the city for a while.

Portland averages 5 inches a year. Thing is, Portland only gets a real accumulation every FEW years.

This was all part of research done 50 years ago, justfiying why the city should not (and did not) buy snow plows. That's why snow in Portland (and Seattle, if you remember discussion about that Monday night game against Green Bay) = day off.

You should see OKC after a snowstorm here. Even WITH snowplows, it's an automatic day off for most!!!!!!

Okies wouldn't be able to handle a typical Wyoming blizzard. /users/31/07/37/smiles/cowboy.gif
