#2 MSU lost
#3 Old Dominion lost
#4 Wofford losing
#5 JMU won

Looking ahead...yes...but...we definitely control our own destiny for a top playoff seed!

A win is a win and I'll take it today!
 
North Dakota State still looks the best to me. I have no idea how their wheels fell off, and to some degree that narrow win over Northern Iowa isn't looking as impressive. But they are a complete team when theey play well.

I watched James Madison last week and didn't think they were all that great. I think Villanova is the best team in the CAA right now... and they must've been sharp today.

It would almost be unimaginable for Eastern to be #1... I mean EWU looks incredibly vulnerable and has only played one really good game this season (UND).
 
hate to be a debby downer but right now we are not a top 5 team. play like we did against against UND on a consistent basis and then we're right there but we shouldn't even be in the discussion after how we played today on offense.

We did beat the Number 2 team in the country today . . . . may not have been pretty, but there is a huge "W" in the left column now of the standings for EWU the #6 team in the country who will be ranked higher come Monday. :thumb:

Indeed. But eastern has a lot of unresolved issues and still hasn't learned to put it all together.

We've played like a championship team in all phases... offense, defense, and special teams.... just not all in one game (other than UND).

Not that we deserve #1 yet, but I do hope we get it, just to piss off the University of North Dakota State clowns. :twisted:

Plus, winning ugly is still infinitely better than losing with class.
 
We have some concerns on both sides of the ball, but other than the Weber game every team we have faced has a ton of talent. It doesn't get any easier next week with Sac. The only perhaps gimme left on the schedule is PSU, and that ain't a gimmie either. A top 2 ranking is completely justified at this point. :nod:

Our offense sputtered against MSU which is always more noticeable if it was the defense that sputtered - but let's see
Offensive touchdown = check
Defensive touchdown = check
Special Teams touchdown = check

Not to mention, our field goal kicker was 2 for 2 despite new holder, MSU's defense is pretty awesome, and Herd/Kaufman were neutralized. I think we are a complete team, thankful we did not come out flat, and every single game counts for a home playoff game to occur in which Baldwin and Co are very well aware of.

211 total yards = Yuk, 40% completions = yuk, 71 yards rushing = yuk, 140 yards passing = yuk 2 INTs = yuk, 6 punts = yuk. WIN = check....long way to go.

2)What do u expect playing #2 team on the road?? A flawless game? EWU was supposed to lose dumbasses, so the fact that they won ( no matter how ugly, especially on the road) is exceptional.

3)#1,#2,#3, & #4 lost so be fxckin happy #6 EWU didnt lose. MSU was the toughest test on the schedule & EWU pulled it off. That win should answer every question you have.

Does the FRESHMAN qb need work? Yes, he was totally spooked! But he well enough not to completely fuck the game off, while the D & ST were good enough to bail EWU out.

THAT WAS ONE HELL OF A GAME, I dont believe there will be a better team EWU faces untill the semis at best.

Take it easy BF, we're all EWU fans here. I agree, impressive we got the win despite the poor offensive showing, against a great team no less.

Cal Poly will be tougher though, luckily we have them at home. Our D will have to play lights out for us to win that one, with CP's option running attack.

Lehigh is so overrated it's not even funny. It's also a travesty 6-0 Cal Poly isn't in their top 10. 6 DI wins, one of them over an FBS, and not top 10? BS.
